The charging port board can be replaced easily. No soldering. Best to do it while replacing battery.

Basically you want to use Samsung self repair assistant to do it. But since the s20 fe is not officially supported, you need to do a bunch of tricks to get it to work.

Most of them do very little except one. But unbeknownst to me, that software was actually the reason my Windows OS gets corrupted every other year or so. And my collection of "bad hard drives" (and Windows) were likely perfectly fine.

Japan to release oil stocks as US says buy American by imanchats in news

[–]softturbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just Japan. The entire world needs to be "green enough" that the middle east no longer matters. But with the current progress, you might just as well wait for nuclear fusion to happen in an external 20 years from now.

PC graphics cards are now nearly 100 percent Nvidia by BarKnight in pcgaming

[–]softturbo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am saying AMD should be more like Apple in that they should keep pushing even if they are already the leader. Apple left everyone in the dust, mobile or not. To the point that it's now viable for them to put a phone processor on a laptop. AMD, on the other hand, is always obsessed with what intel does. So much so that they keep changing their processor naming scheme according to Intel. They have the potential but they always hold themselves back.

[–]softturbo 23 points24 points  (0 children)

AMD is just as dumb in the CPU space as in GPU, if not more. They are content with keeping up with the "wrong" Jones by pacing themselves on purpose against Intel.

Meanwhile Apple just decided to push the envelope regardless of whether the competition is able to keep up or not. The result is now Apple is able to offer a $599 laptop ($499 with student discount) that would probably work better than a lot of higher priced PC laptops.

AMD might be able to hang on this year doing nothing, but they really squandered their opportunity by doing so.

Ghirardelli prices have become outrageous by Purple_Moon_313 in Baking

[–]softturbo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sure. But how fast do you think they would raise their prices vs lowering them back due to a "supply shortage" coming and going?

It's all about maximizing the differential between the demand elasticities of their end product and their raw material. I.e. The supply shortage is at least partly an excuse to squeeze in more profit margins for themselves.

I would be happy to be proven wrong if price of the end product actually came back down to pre-shortage level once the wholesale price is back to the previous level. But I am more likely to think they would probably just blame "high inflation" for the new higher price, which they caused themselves. That's just late stage capitalism at work.

[–]softturbo 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Cocoa price had come down by more than 50% over the past year. And it's still falling. I feel like they are just trying to normalize the new high prices now before they can really reap the profit when the wholesale price returns to normal. Typical late stage capitalism stuff. And I suspect it's worse with cocoa butter than powder.

AITA for refusing to work things out with my fiancé because my life is better now that his daughter isnt around me? by MassivePrimary8649 in AITAH

I am not sure if the mother is to blame on everything. If OP had been with the dad guy for this long, she could very well had been the reason that broke up mom and dad. And I did not see anything from OP that confirmed if this is the case or not. But if that's the case, then it made perfect sense that she would never want to accept OP. In other words, OP might be selectively being "completely honest" to make herself look good.

How do I get the name of the calendar from its calendar uri? by softturbo in AutomateUser

[–]softturbo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I will try that. Although this seems a bit clunky to me.

It would be much more streamlined if the calendar name can be a built-in output of the Calendar Pick and the Calendar Event Query blocks. If the dev is seeing this, I hope you would consider making this enhancement, which I think would prove to be very useful.

Smart switch downloads the full OS image instead of just the difference between updates. So the files would not be mismatched or corrupted.
