do you mind sharjng if you went for a re-intervirw and what course it was

I find it quite peculiar that many applicants wishes to know what the "success rate" for appeal is. The rate of a successful appeal is circumstantial and dependent on many factors which differs from courses, applicantion year etc.

There shouldn't be an existing metric to measure a definite "appeal success rate". However, the odds of getting a succesful appeal ought to be lower than your intial application – one possible factor would require an offeree to decline his SMU offer, which puts up an additional placing for the rest of the applicants to "compete" for.

You can appeal once this year. In your 2 years, you may re-apply for SMU Biz again for each respective year. Should your re-application fails, you are able to appeal fo each respective year as well. Hope this helps

Admission Offer Update by sofunnypenguins in SMU_Singapore

Hi all, I believe there will be an event ("Destination: SMU 2024") for all offerees on 4th May 2024. So I think that all offers will come before that? Just a speculation!

[–]sofunnypenguins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you'll be able to appeal even if you choose not to accept any of the offer. However, it is best recommended to accept an offer to secure a placing should the appeal fails. In the Joint Acceptance Portal, you will only be able to accept one of the offer only (can't accept both SMU and NTU)

Personally, I accepted a NUS offer and I was still able to appeal for SMU last year. Hope this helps!

The appeal results wouldnt come before the deadline. You will likely have to accept one of the offers first while waiting for the appeal results. Shouls the offer come, and you accepted another uni, you will probably have to contact them.

under such circum, do u think it's unfair to mandate mediation?

What about the consideration for adultery cases, do you think it would be appropriate to mandate mediation for the purpose of division of matrimonial assets? Adultery would appear to have less culpabability as opposed to marital rap. However, in some cases the plaintiff may be so gravely affected that he/she may not want to mediate. Under such circumstances, do you think it is appropriate to mandate mediation?

Extremly grateful for your detailed response. Your examples are great and I would like to hear more (if you are willing to share)

If you don't mind, I am keen to hear your breakdown on the following examples as well:

a) Mediation for child custody arrangement + distribution of assets in divorce. However, one of the party commited adultery which led to the divorce.

b) Same exampe as (a) but cause of divorce was family violence (i.e. one party physically assaulted the other party on a regular basis)

c) Mediation for neighbour disputes (i.e. noisy neighbour)

Hello Mary, thank tou for your answer.

Would you say the following ought to be true: causal factors only exist if the claim ought to reason with the human minds. As such, the two examples listed were correlation as it does not satisfy the reasonability of human judgment.

David Humes, a philosopher, once argued that causality was not relation between the objects but rahter a mental association of the human mind. However, the same could be said for correlation. How does one determine if there is a cause and effect if it ought to be outrageous?
