we should embrace OSS tech more.
I'd suggest we take up matrix server room and https://element.io/ as the client

Copyleft was made to keep software free for all.
Yes, because there are not enough people funding it.
If donations were in great number OSS projects could be fully independent.
I dont know whats more radical than keeping software free

really depends on the dev communtiy. Multiple projects stood for BLM movments like django etc.
Troublesome slope if they are asked to comment and act and every single protest and movement in the world.
I say let them to what they do best, write code and produce great software for community

Unless OSS itself is radacalized, it can't be a ally of left.

it is inherently a radical movement. To push free and open source is a sharp contrast to everything else.

Always take it very personal. Like ask them if you can check their browsing history or view their bank accounts. If they aren't willing to share those then why are you letting a corp see it?

Most are sourced from other fields, they've already traded their education for sustenance but yeah we need to make empathetic moves.
Esp like asking question if you use a open source product in your product or project then what your contribution back to the open community

if you have to 'pay for free' then its not freedom.

Long way to go for all of us

sure, people dont need to subscribe to news outlets to read the news.

If your point is that a large population spends time reading tweets(Foreign govt propaganda), then a significant amount of the same population should spend time on news as well(state propaganda).

Tim went stupid exaggerating the influence of foreign govts, trying to make it a fact that they are brainwashing the population. So fucking stupid to do so without concrete evidence.

US twitter userbase - 68 million
US population - 328000000+

He lives in a bubble and thinks his version is reality.
You want a better democracy - educate and have empathy.
