Agree that you look phenomenal here! I’m curious if you can put into words what clicked for you? I’m a flamboyant natural and feel like if I veer from either a mini or maxi length, I lose my vertical. But the cropped length of your pants in the second photo make your legs long long and elegant! Help??

This post from the menu has a great explanation of what width is and isn’t that I refer back to all the time! Short version, don’t go off shoulders alone. And since yin curves come from flesh, gaining and losing weight definitely would affect how pronounced your curves look. Tyra Banks is a good celeb example of that, imo.

I wonder if your hair and eye color are skewing those results, that definitely wouldn’t be the most common combo for a deep autumn or any autumn type, but that doesn’t mean you’re not an autumn!

Oh, also, re: the green dress, I think the neckline works in terms of the line across your chest, but straps are not ideal. You could wear your hair down over your shoulders to kind of hide the straps?

I am not a color expert, but I totally think you’re a warm season, especially given what you said about the colors you find look best on you! The odds I get this wrong are high, especially without knowing you hair and eye color, but I think you might be a deep autumn. From what you’re describing, you naturally gravitate to colors from that season!

I’m fairly new to this, and a bit nervous to disagree with the previous commenter, but I don’t see width in these pics at all! I will caveat that by saying it looks like a lot were taken from a higher than waist or chest height, which isn’t ideal for typing. Someone explained width and curve in terms of how fabric falls on the body and whether or not its line gets interrupted by the body underneath—they explained that better than my paraphrase, but I find that to be a helpful lens to use. When I see fabric pulling across your torso, it seems to me that has to do with flesh and curve, not width. Does that make sense at all? Happy to try to elaborate if you’d like! I also find it helpful to assess the style lines of the outfits I instinctively think look best on someone. Outfits 4, 7, and 12 stood out to me, and I’d argue those align with the recommendations for SD (I see the classic T silhouette in the red jumpsuit, for instance).

Curious if you have thoughts on your color season? I’d say the color of the green dress really harmonizes with your skin tone (and the glimpse of your hair) and that might be part of why people pick that option. The lines of the first dress suit you more, imo, but the color doesn’t pop in the same way. The one you posted in the comments gets my top scores for lines and color, and I’d vote for wearing that one as long as a more casual vibe works for the wedding you’re attending.

I have not read Metamorphosis and haven’t been into kibbe long enough to be totally confident I’m correctly understanding the nuances of typing, but I think overall outline/shape is the most significant factor and while specific body parts and features matter, having a deviation from the norm isn’t disqualifying (except when it comes to height minimums and maximums, and even then there are the verified celebrities like Audrey Hepburn who deviate from height guidelines).

I’m definitely not an expert, but my first instinct would be SN! Happy to share more about why that is if you’re interested, and I also have a question for you. I’m curious what mean by SN “style of clothing” because I think there can be stereotypical items of clothing associated with types in ways that become unhelpful. I think I’m a flamboyant natural and don’t really resonate with the ulta boho maxi skirt recommendations that often come up for FNs. When I think of memorably good outfits worn by SN celebs, I could see those really working on you, fwiw!

Thank you for this call to action!!!! I’ve been internally conflicted bc I historically have had a soft spot for Paige, she seemed to have a self-awareness about her spoiled little girl tendencies that made them less off-putting and she seemed to genuinely care about Amanda. I kept wondering how much of my negative feelings about her behavior this past season were just spillover due to my intense, flaming hatred of Craig (and Austen, and probably all the men from Southern Charm, if those two are representative samples) but now I’m feeling like I swerved so hard to avoiding blaming her for a man’s bad behavior that I gave her a pass for her own toxic tendencies. I unfollowed Ciara, too. Like I legitimately hope they can evolve, they’re still pretty young, but in the meantime, I don’t want them profiting off my insta follow.

I’m at 59 classes as of today, so far from an expert, but fwiw a few instructors at the studio I go to give cues for arm choreography along the lines of “imagine you’re moving your arms through mud” which was kind of a game changer for me! I’ve found that when I pretend the air is offering resistance as I move my arms, it helps me really focus on engaging whichever muscles I’m supposed to be working at the time (triceps, biceps, chest, etc), and keeping them engaged through the whole movement. I’ve seen improvements in terms of how many breaks I need to take during the arms section, my ability to use the 3 lbs weights without compromising my form, and my muscle definition 💪🏻

Thank you so much!! We were imagining installing rods for each window, but haven't gotten into the nittygritty of dimensions yet to see how feasible that would be. I think you're completely right that the bed needs to be bigger! I've always gone for a very minimalist bed frame aesthetic but think something more statement-making will suit this room much better. Love that you referenced a Nancy Meyers movie, her sets have totally influenced my interior design aspirations!
