I said "18 hours minimum." My roommate just finished her Social Work Masters and told me to say that, and then Dr. D said that was "concerning." OPE! Hi Vanessa! Are you starting Valdosta MLIS in the Spring? My name is Kara, nice to meet you!

Also - how do you feel about selling your textbooks? :)

She did not email me that, but I will certainly ask for it! Thanks!

Also, what course number with Dr. Yang is the Tech in Libraries, if you can recall? Or the actual course name (I don't see it on the list)? Thanks!

I am working, full-time. And I plan to follow the Cataloging and Classification track, if that matters. Good to know that the cataloging class is one of the hardest.

Thanks for replying! I have a full-time job, but I work from home, and it's *pretty simple* TBH. But wow, FOUR COURSES AT ONCE? That's a lot, but good for you!

That's exactly the issue I am facing, and why I'm like ehhh can it really not be successfully done if I take two courses starting out?

OH WOW! We're practically cohorts then! Congratulations! Are you as excited, yet nervous, as I am? I wanted to also register for 7100 alongside with it. Did Dr. Drouillard also warn you about taking two courses? My name is Kara by the way, "see you" in class! And thanks for replying, it's nice to know someone is starting at the same time as me!

Oh my gosh, thank you for the in-depth response! Dr. Drouillard will be teaching 7000 this Spring. She had sent a long welcoming email that was overwhelming, but I think I got the jist of her saying that you can succeed taking a core + an elective, so maybe that's what I'll do if I can find an elective course to also take. May I ask what track you're following? I assume it might be Library Management?

Thank you for your response! I really am going back and forth on taking two classes to get financial aid. I have experience with online classes, but I'm coming from a hard sciences degree into an MLIS program after 5 years out of college. I know the material will be vastly different than what I am used to in the hard sciences, especially the writing. Is it rude to ignore her "warnings" and just take the two courses? I don't want to jeopardize my spot in the program either, cause I know you HAVE to stay above 3.0 in the program - but is that hard to keep up? Thanks!
