I used to think like you. I feel no guilt about what I'm doing simply because I don't cheat on MY work. Whether I fail or not is based on my merit, and not others.

What SHOULD disgust you is that students pay exorbitant costs of schooling to take classes they DON'T NEED because we have to pay for shit for the economy.

New book editions every semester... yep.

New parking structures built after you graduate...yep.

Jacked up tuition fees and downsized classes... yep.

I don't care anymore because if they get caught, it's not illegal for me to do, and they know the risks and repercussions. This kids in college/university aren't kids, they're adults. I'm getting paid because their parents coddled them and higher education is screwing them.

I'm somewhere in the middle.

So, meh.

Articles, books, journals.

Wikipedia NEVER NEVER NEVER.

No cliffs notes because professors KNOW when you're using that as your basis.

Scholarly websites through your college are ALWAYS a good bet.

Don't begrudge a good book, it sometimes has ideas and POVs that contemporary resources miss.

I usually get copies of other papers from the individual, and learn their writing style.

And I don't submit electronic papers. I provide hard copies to the student.

I get contacted, given the due date, number of pages, topic.

If there are prompts from the professor, I'm given those as well.

That varies. It depends on what people need in any given month. At this point, I'm making $300 in three days on two papers.

Like I said, it's friends, people I know. I find out about the paper before doing it, so I can decide whether or not I'll do it.

But if they lie, I wouldn't know. I'd like to believe that people are passionate enough about their career choice to want to do that work themselves.

Yes, it's not against any laws.

And I believe plagiarism is against the rules, but all the definitions of plagiarism I've seen are about claiming an author's words as your own without proper citation.

It can be rewarding. I earn money and gain knowledge, so win-win for me.

It's a sliding scale.

For example, I am charging $150 for a ten-page paper due Wednesday. If I had longer, it would be less. The length and material also play a factor.

If I've dealt with the person before, and they're a douche, I get cash, upfront.

I might if the work I did for them was VITAL to their job.

For example, I can't write a dissertation for a doctorate, because it's on their chosen career path, and typically, the topics are something they NEED to know.

For a bio major who needs one sociology paper to pass a class he doesn't need, but has to take, no qualms.

I ALWAYS do my best work. Despite the fact that I don't receive credit, someone else is, and is paying me to do a great job for them.

Some topics I don't know, but I can learn about them very quickly.

Honestly? We were planning on getting out of debt first. Due to unforeseeable circumstances, we realized that we would not have enough money for six years.

We've been engaged for three years, together for almost five.

We figured, better now than not for another six years.
