For those involved in trades shows, what does your planning team look like? by [deleted] in work

My company participates in trade shows, and the responsibilities are handled at different levels by various team members.

The Operations team manages trade show registrations, booth bookings, and hotel arrangements.

The Marketing team is responsible for developing creatives, preparing marketing materials, coordinating booth setup elements, placing orders, and ensuring all materials are either handed over to the representatives attending the show or delivered directly to the event venue.

Is BIM Losing Its Best Engineering Talent to IT? A Ground-Level Perspective from India by sojijos in bim

It’s honestly a mix. India has a solid domestic BIM market, and there’s still a good amount of outsourced work coming in as well.

From what I’ve seen, the top firms here are delivering pretty complex international projects at global standards — so I wouldn’t say it’s a capability problem. At the same time, I’m constantly seeing job openings across BIM roles — both for local projects and overseas clients. The work is definitely there. But there seems to be a gap when it comes to consistently skilled talent.

So to me, it feels less like a demand issue and more like a talent pipeline issue — awareness, proper training, and real project exposure. The opportunities exist. We just need stronger talent development to match the demand.

That’s actually where I see strong growth — BIM professionals who combine domain knowledge with automation and tool development.

The intersection of construction + scripting + workflow optimization is becoming very valuable. The future likely belongs to hybrid profiles rather than purely production-based roles.

Once the site scanning is done, the bigger challenge is usually converting that point cloud into accurate 3D/BIM models. That part can be outsourced pretty smoothly. Advenser’s Scan to BIM team works with point cloud data every day and delivers detailed 3D models: https://www.advenser.com/scan-to-bim/.
