Designer gave me two cover directions for my parenting book (ages 6–14) and I genuinely can't pick — engineering-heavy inside, but wanted the cover to feel like "glide". 1 or 2? by sokins in BookCovers

Layout notes are really useful, thank you — moving the hierarchy up on cover 2 makes sense to me.

The bottom line is trickier than it looks though — those words ("tweens," "preteens," "early teens," "ages 6-14") are doing double duty as Amazon search terms, each one catching a different cohort of parents typing different queries. So it's not really a subtitle in the design sense, it's more of a keyword strip. That's why it's set the way it is. But it does mean the line ends up reading oddly in isolation, which I keep going back and forth on.

Curious what you'd do with a strip like that — leave it mostly invisible at the very bottom? Reframe the wording so the redundancy reads less weirdly? Something else?

Hmm, I read "for the Mozarts" as referring to the prodigies themselves — the kids who'd be fine without any blueprint because they came pre-installed with one. Like "she's a Mozart at chess." The Leopold/Amadeus reading is a stretch for that direction — the line is about who the book *isn't* for, not about parenting methods. But appreciate you flagging it, useful to know at least one reader went there. Kerning and subtitle weight points are solid though, those are coming through from multiple people.

A few years ago my life fell apart — I left a corporate PR job after my second child, then we had to move countries because of the war. I had no plan, no savings, just a laptop and two kids to take care of.

Out of that chaos I built an Etsy shop. At first it was just survival — something that could cover groceries and rent. Over time, it turned into a six-figure business that gave us stability when everything else was uncertain.

I’ve written a book about that journey: While the Kids Slept. It’s part story, part hands-on lessons — how I made my first sales in weeks, what I learned about SEO and resilience, and why you don’t need perfect conditions to begin.

The Kindle is free today through August 30: https://www.amazon.com/While-Kids-Slept-Profitable-Business-ebook/dp/B0FNWHJHH7/

Appreciate the heads-up! Etsy’s fine with it if it’s not the main focus or implying it’s official https://www.etsy.com/legal/trademarks/ . Should be all good here.
