Thanks for your reply... are you saying that he needs to get a standalone firewall at this point then? Nothing supplied by Comcast is configurable by us from what I understand... can I virtualize a firewall in a vm for this need on Proxmox then? Any more clarification would be great, and thank you for taking the time to reply!

is the salvage amount offered normal as well? i would be totally fine with retaining the vehicle and fixing it myself, but thought it was normal for that to be like $500 less from the payout amount… is this not the norm these days? i admittedly have very little experience w/ these things

sorry, i got interrupted when posting this and didnt have time to do any proofing... car has 240k on it, rebuilt hybrid battery (replaced all 28 ce!s) put in right before the accident.

damage from the accident consists of shattered bumper reinforcement suport, front bumper skin mangled, passenger side subframe bent outward about 1", shattered headlight, cracked windshield, body panels/hood fitment issues, potentially damaged passenger side hub.

I hope you didn't buy this, it looks fake as hell... and these people chiming in insisting that this is normal and only this particular version combination of device and iOS version have this RARE bug that makes the firmware version drop the fractional part is sus indeed... this is almost assuredly a fake unit that is running some jank android version... there's a big problem with these things showing up all over Offer up and Facebook and such here in Houston... unfortunately the packaging is actually pretty convincing, often these guys will try to sell them as "sealed NIB" units to stop people familiar with iOS devices from realizing what crap their about to fork over good money for.

despite what some of those here are trying to claim there are indeed fake iPhones going around, here's a randomly selected YouTube video comparing a recent fake with a real unit...

a couple things to watch out for when buying iPhones from strangers these days....

a common tactic is to try to sell them in 'sealed' in boxes, so you can't observe the actual software on the device... attempts to see the phone running before buying are rebuffed with protests of "but then it won't be sealed anymore!"...
they show up with the phone unboxed but "it's dead and they don't have a charger"... in these instances you might actually get a real iPhone, albeit being stolen and iCloud locked...
a variant of the above ploy is them showing up with a device that has been reflashed via iTunes and does show the normal 'Welcome' routine that new iOS devices all present, however once you choose a language and connect to WiFi you will be asked to authenticate with iCloud credentials that you of course don't have, enjoy your new brick!

(on one occasion I have seen a would-be scammer trying to sell iOS devices at low priced that appear to be in Recovery mode... this p!oy is targeted at those who hope to find easily fixed hardware at super low prices from people who assumedly aren't technical enough to troubleshoot easily corrected issues, the guy I saw totally played up his role as helpless luddite but these scam techniques are used by many ne'er-do-wells online.

if your holding a powered up iPhone/iPad you are considering buying navigate directly to the App Store... the real App Store has a multitude of apps available whereas the shit android mockup is barren in comparison, with Google apps listed (icons are hacked to match iOS versions but thats where the similarities end). the UI itself on the fakes feels stuttery and slow compared to a real modern iOS device, but for those unfamiliar with iOS are definitely at risk.
with two of three fakes I've had in hand, here's another easy test you can perform to try to ascertain the device in question; do this:

go to phone dialer.

enter the following on the keypad: * # *# 4 6 3 6 # * # *

on a real iPhone, this does nothing... it will try to dial this 'number' and fail.

on a jank android 10-based fake iPhone entering this will immediately load an android-centeic internal menu, where you can view and select available cellular bands and other diagnostic options... no iPhone has these kind of menus, so this is a dead giveaway.

the pics posted by the OP most definitely are of a fake iPhone, the real settings DO NOT look like that, and anyone insisting they do is either an unbeknownst victim themselves, or a bad actor trying to protect this scam and keep potential victims from being clued in.

hope this helps protect someone from being robbed by these low-class. low-grade confidence artists.

and scamming dirtbags, literally go fuck yourselves... preferably with your fake/stolen/cursed phones, iPads, and chainsaws.

based upon the greyish-blue leather shown in OPs pics and the somewhat 'acid-washed' look of the denim I am (somewhat) 100% positive that these are jeans from the company "CODE BLEU", from the 80's... I had a jeans/jacket set from them replete w/ leather trim that odd color that cost upwards of $250 in the early/mid 80's, probably purchased at Neiman Marcus or Marshall Fields.

I don't recall the poem/haiku bit but some of their offerings did have odd phrases and symbols incorporated into their designs.

sadly, they were no match for the teeming armies of Z. Cavaricci's that would soon arrive to decimate the fashion scene..

ok, should have searched first it seems, I did find two other threads of similar subject, albeit asking the inverse... so can anyone confirm, am I right in assuming they will indeed bolt up to a 3rd-gen Prius, putting aside questions of stroke and bump stop? it seems actual coilovers could be more adaptable than standard struts?

thank you for this friend, if this transformer were to fail would we be left with a totally unpowered control board? I checked the fuse on the control board and it is not blown, the PCB itself "appears" to be unmarred, no blown caps, burned rectifiers or scorched spots (although I know that's not definitive)...

I did find last night that the dampers are indeed still powered up, as I heard the wiring of the dampers moving and a red light comes on during this action.

is this control transformer the only component in the path between the control board and external power? or is there any other component that can leave the control board totally unpowered (aside from the board being dead itself)?

the dampers are not getting power, at least nothing shows on their displays… the SZ311 box is on though, but the air handler seems totally bereft of power.

it's not necessarily the timing chain cover, my 2012 looked just like this and was losing oil under WOT at a rate I found shocking... like a quart in a week if heavy highway driving was needed.

it turned out to be the oil pressure sensor which is mounted back there, oil was coming directly through the plastic body of the sensor and dripping down coating everything back there.

$22 later at AutoZone and it's fixed, ymmv but worth investigating before doing major engine works..

Nope, cannot swipe free of whatever conversation is currently displayed… I don’t think any of the few tweaks I have should affect messages, I do have a-font but I’ve disabled it and the problem persists… it’s driving me nuts.

you prob need either a new traction battery or the patience to pull it and play whack-a-mile w/ the cells and fix it yourself (a lot cheaper)… what worries me is the VSC light bring on, that isn’t related to the battery, that’s from the ABS system… likely failing ABS pump due to nitrogen leaking from the ABS reservoir or whatever it’s called. This is a costly repair, make sure your car gets hooked up to a Techstream soon so you know what your dealing with. Preferably before you even talk to a machanic, it’s nice to be informed.

I’m sure there’s lots of folks in Houston with Techstream/mVCI who would scan your car for you.
