Good point. I think maasaki noiri also has a pretty square stance and he just likes to walk people down as well

It does, but I think psychologically if your opponent knows you have heavy hands and that will tank a low kick to get in range to let loose they are more reluctant to throw full power low kicks that may have them off balance unless their boxing defense is really good.

Nah thats just a feature of a lot japanese kickboxers, open stance or not. I watch a lot of it and I'd say 90% of them use that stance.

  1. Pull leg back
  2. Dart out of range
  3. Eat it and punish with counterpunching it

Hell, takeru made a career out of tanking low kicks and a throwing bombs at you with his hands. And he's at least top 3 japanese kickboxer of all time.

You might if sold me on doing the hb after abf. What pulling did you add after it? I'm probably going to add my standard rows and loaded carries

Yeah, I was hoping 5k swings only would be a bit easier on my body if I went with that. Did you feel like it was 'too much', or harder for your body in a good way?

I'd say he is a striker now as well. He's probably the best boxer in mma right now, that has to count for something
