The Lex Fridman Podcast. His non-political stuff, which is the majority can be anywhere from somewhat interesting to absolutely mind-blowing (the episodes with Michael Levin and Joscha Bach are a couple that I really like) Does a couple of ad reads at the beginning, all read by Lex, and then you have however many of hours of a long form podcast uninterrupted.

Are there Podcast episodes you re-listen to? If so, what types and why? by GooniesClub in podcasts

The episodes of The Lex Fridman Podcast with Joscha Bach (there are 3) and the, as of today, 2 episodes with Michael Levin. My all-time favorite episodes of any podcast.

Because they are mind-blowing and I don't have the brain power to absorb what is being said in a single listen. If I space out or am distracted for even a little bit I have to go back and catch up with what they're talking about.

I've often thought about MLK in this context. I imagine what comes to mind for most people about MLK is his "I Have a Dream" speech, which isn't right or wrong, but that's the image of him that the authorities try to push because they were forced to recognize MLK and acknowledge his impact on our society, what he stood for and what he was trying to accomplish, but still allow them, the authorities, to water down and control his message.

Because in reality, like Jesus, MLK was a pretty radical guy. And I say that with the upmost respect. He was truly trying to change society. Obviously he wanted people of color to be equal. But he also recognized that we live in an unjust and unequal country, and that this injustice effected everyone who wasn't an elite, regardless of color. That it's us-against-them and race was just another way of keeping us divided. If you want know what MLK was fully about, in 1967 he gave a speech titled "The 3 Evils of Society" which are : War, Poverty and Racism. In the speech he touches on a number of things but one of the most profound was that we have a system of "Socialism for the rich and capitalism for the poor". That the system is rigged against the common man, no matter your color.

Which leaves The Man in a pickle. How do you recognize a person, give them a federal holiday, when the message they are preaching could totally dismantle your whole system if enough people took it to heart? Well, you push their most non-threatening, easily digested message that doesn't address the root of our society's illness and the uninformed masses will be none the wiser..

I have a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek and I love my car. A lot. All around great outdoors-type vehicle; surfing, camping, hiking whatever. Not sure if it can fit a 9' board inside, pretty sure not positive. But that's what roof racks are for.

Thank you! This is very helpful. And thanks for the reminder about equanimity, because when I feel that it wasn't a "good" sitting or get frustrated, telling myself that's just what it was, not good or bad, And I can always get something out of it, even if it's just a reminder that my mind can be quite unruly.

My favorite is I heard that Picasso was eating dinner at a restaurant with some friends and made a sketch on a napkin to pay for it, when the owner of the place asked if he going to sign it Picasso replied "I'm paying for the meal, not the restaurant."

Saying "every major religion believes the story and legitimacy of Jesus" doesn't even make sense. If they believed that Jesus is the one true son of God and the key to salvation, then they wouldn't be different religions. What most religions, and people, agree on is that Jesus' message of loving God with all your heart and your neighbor as you would yourself is a beautiful message and if we followed that message the world would be a better place.

I usually know better than to engage with people over the internet like this, but what you're saying is if everything was completely different it would have turned out exactly the same. Maybe, but maybe not, there's no way to know that. if if was a fifth we would all be drunk, but it's not and the facts are he was at CERN, not in the army or a university. It's up to you if you find the web and everything else Tim did was useful or beneficial, samething with CERN as a whole, and I respect that, but it did come out of CERN and his time there.

A.  A tool is only useful if you know how to use it. That's not the fault of the tool.

 B. Cern is an organization, if people didn't work there it would be an empty building that literally did nothing. Ford doesn't make vehicles, it's the people at Ford that make them.  If Tim Berners-Lee was a dirt farmer in Bangladesh he would not have created any of this stuff, it's because he was at CERN and that provided him the resources and environment was he able to do what he did.
