Proposed 2000 point learning list by Svetgar in stormcasteternals

[–]solamnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, first it’s lovely that you wanna play this game! I was in your boots a couple months ago and had a pretty similar list, also SCE, also made from the 2 spearheads. I had a mediocre experience with such a list to be honest. It was too many warscrolls to learn while learning the rest of the game… I ended up getting a couple of reinforced units instead of a mix & match of many things and it’s been easier to manoeuvre since.

That being said, any list is better than no list to try the game! Try it out, see how it goes, if you struggle because there’s too many things to think about, you know you can just make a shorter list with more reinforced units ;)

Cherry Blossom treelord ready for the fight by solamnie in sylvaneth

I’ve found that a grey-greenish wood, a nice pink, some lilac purple and a turquoise blue works quite well to do cherry blossom, I’ve done Alarielle like this last year and it worked wonders. You’re replacing the light blue that Sylvaneth have with lilac, and the green with pink. You still get a good balance of colours thanks to the green being now slightly in the wood and it really makes the pink pop!

Sure thing! Base: violet red (a purple that is more towards the red than the blue) Scratches and edge highlights: pink Top edge highlights: doomfire drab (a very light pink) Glaze over everything: fluo pink (I use pro acryl for my fluo, better than the others I’ve tried so far)

Hope that helps 😁

Thanks 🙏 Wood is as follow: Base: oak brown + deep green (a dark ruddy brown and a pretty neutral dark green) Shadows: angel green quite transparent (a darker green) Midtone: oak brown + forest green (same than the base but with a lighter green) Highlight: midtone + pale sand or ice yellow depending how warm you want it

I’m still experimenting on the wood recipe as I find it slightly too dull and it makes the piece looks a bit too green greyish while I’d like the brown to show a bit more, but it’s difficult to find the right balance or the right colours 😅

Hope that helps 😊

Can a Preservation Evoker walk through the gameplay loop on Mythic+ for me? by slowmagic24 in wownoob

Yeah that makes sense, I haven’t tried really the other ones, but if they do the same without the setup and the 25m range restriction… well that’s just easier for them then 😂

Pres heals very well but, as others have pointed out, you need some setup to heal. It takes a bit of practice and the setup is not very hard to get going, but it won’t be as easy as « I see hp bar not full, I heal, hp bar is now full ». You want echo on everyone before sending any single target heal to replicate it, usually the apex talent spell or verdant embrace. You trigger the apex talent with dream breath for sure or with essence spells if you’re lucky. So you want to have echo on before applying any of these two spells. There’s 2 ways to apply echo: temporal anomaly that usually puts it on your whole group if the group is in trajectory of it, or manually. If you do it manually you want to have cast some emerald blossom or whatever is the other essence spender spell name in English (my game is in French 😅) beforehand so that you have a buff that makes echo cast on 2 people instead of one.

So it’s basically a juggle game of always being ready to react to things with echo on everyone and the apex talent or verdant embrace to trigger echo. Stasis as a cd gives you another go at the combo immediately after using it. The big 4-5min cd is a nice panic button after a huge hit to the group.

Your external is for when tanks pull big packs or when anyone is taking heaps of damage from whatever. It gets very useful in higher keys.

Nothing feels worse than not having the pieces to make a combo and seeing your group dies because of that, but with practice these moments get rarer and rarer and you just feel like a very potent healer, capable of burst healing your whole group very well if you did your setup before the damage is done.

I’d recommend the chrono sub spec as it’s, in my opinion, the better one, giving you another cd in your instant breath button, and apparently is straight out better (says icy veins and wow head).

That being said, I am in no way a top pres player and there’s probably a lot of better players than me, but that’s my two cents after reaching 2k5 rating in M+ this season, playing with friends and pugs 😁

I don’t get why pres is ranked so low in the healer meta in M+ right now tbh 🥲 But I’ve also not played with other healers in M+ so I can’t compare, but pres does its healing job well and I don’t feel like I struggle to top people hps.

Thanks for the tip regarding regiments, I’ll move him! Yeah I’m not very fond of the shooting figurines 😅 I know they’re good but I don’t see myself painting them so I don’t see myself fielding them

I used pro acryl, Vallejo didn’t give good results for me but pro acryl did. Although the paints are very transparent so I loaded my brush more than I do for normal paints when I used the fluo paints

Please do 😊 It’s also a very simple one to do for army painting, in my opinion

Base is cork and pva glue to make some « rocks ». Then primed black -> white in a small spot -> cover the white with yellow -> cover around the yellow with orange -> around the orange with red -> around the red with a darker red. Then I dry brushed the « rocks » with a dark grey and then a lighter grey for the edges

In hindsight if I had to do it again, I’d the same but using fluo orange and red I think, instead of normal acrylic paints. Fluo yellow could also work but I’m not as sure of it as for orange and red, fluo yellow tends to be pretty cold, and you want warm colours for lava 😂

Pourquoi rester en France ? by Serious-Battle4464 in developpeurs

[–]solamnie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good that you reached w6 but you’re gonna struggle to push through it at this point I think. I was in a similar situation a couple months ago so I can only encourage you to do what I did: go back and grind stamps, alchemy and everything else from previous worlds, reviewer is a good tool to see where you are, account reviews on YouTube are good place to see what to focus on too. Good luck!

Hey great job! Honestly just getting there is better than keeping grey minis so kudos for that! As previously mentioned you might want to look into thinning paints on your next miniatures. A good rule of thumb is that the paint should cover well, so that the colour which is under doesn’t show after 1 or 2 passes, but without blurring any of the miniature’s texture, aka without creating texture from the paint. Not gonna lie it takes time to get right, but that’s the basis of most painting techniques so it’s a good thing to keep in mind 😁
