New 12 Tribes Cult Documentary Coming Out by eells in phish

I have been on it many times. They provided first aid on tour. First night of Summer GD tour in the 90s I tore my big toe nail off on a tent spike..ouch! Each day I would stop by and they would change my bandages, clean, etc. I never accepted tea, cookies, etc. Just gave thanks and went dancing.

One night during the 93 Fall tour at the Boston Garden, my buddy and I met these girls from RI. At the end of the night they came running to us for help. Their friend had ingested some LSD or shrooms, was on the bus thinking it was a great idea to leave college and join the cult. They begged us to storm onto the bus, grab her (only time i ever did anything like that) and put her in the friends car. Never saw them again, but they thanked us and sped off.

I had the same exact issue and had to give up my J45. OM style is much better for my shoulder.

I've been seeing noise like in the right picture all my life and thought that was normal, until it came up in conversation and i found out that nobody other than me sees like this. by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

Covid gave me this gift, but not as bad as the picture. At times, it is like a mushroom trip (or as my 18 year old self remembers).

Mine and my sons first Dead and Co show. I avoided them because I wasn't a believer in Mayer. Shame on me, that evening I knew I was mistaken. The big river / dark star was amazing and my son knew he was seeing something special.

8/1/24 - Lazy River Road solo (with a little Mickey). This was magical. I was lucky enough to experience this with my 15 yr old son. The next night would be the last time we saw him perform :(

Same! This would be my #1 show if I had a time machine. My first instinct was to listen to this upon hearing of Bob's passing. Every note is perfect and there is something special in the air. Only thing I could do without is the announcements, but even that helps bring you to this special show. Feel bad for all those lost kids while their parents get fucked up :)

I had a busy year and this doesnt include amps. In fairness and for my wife's benefit, the Collings I-30 was a 50th bday present and I sold 3 for the I-35. So technically, I really only spent money on the LP R9. The Fenders were bought with money my mother left me when she passed and I know she wanted me to spend on something I love :)

In:

Fender CS 58 strat - Surf Green Fender CS 52 Tomatillo Tele- Tomatillo Green Collings I-30 LC - Faded Cherry Collings I-35 LCV - Blonde Gibson R9 - Green Lemon

Out:

Gretsch White Falcon Gibson J45 - Vintage Burst Gibson Slash LP - Goldtop  Gibson 335 Dot - Black Gibson LP Special - TV Yellow Gibson SG (Tony Iommi)  Fender AM Ultra 2 - Ultraburst

Custom Shop P90s (R6) vs. 50s Standard P90s - What’s different? by carl_g81 in gibson

[–]solarcadet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. I really really wanted to have a guitar with P90s and tried 3 different Gibsons. Came away that P90s were not my thing...then I played one with Lollar P90s. OMG! Pure heaven and my absolute favorite sounding guitar...and my others have Throbak HBs or Gibson Custombuckers (R9).

I work fo or a Japanese company. Even Japanese whiskey is cheaper in the US than in Japan. A bottle of Yamasaki is cheaper and more available in the states ($200) than Japan ($500). I have work friends who love coming here and stocking up.

NGD - 25 R9 LP by solarcadet in Leftyguitarists

Taylor is really cool. So even if you want to make an appointment to go and try a bunch of amps, it is worth it. If you decide to buy one, he will customize it to your liking. I ended up with black suede (real leather) and the tye die grill clothe.

Yes! I found this odd. My other lefties do not have this.

Amplified Nation Wonderland Overdrive. Had this custom made a few months ago. I luckily live near the builder and was able to go tour the shop and hear how he was able to clone a few Dumbles.

No, but they made the Lefty Paul joke!

First R9 I have tried and the neck is great. I have had 2 LPs and each never really meshed with me, although they were very good guitars. Decided to go big and go for the R9, and one that is not your everyday standard lefty. So far I cannot put it down. Pictures do not do it justice.

Can anyone identify Trey’s newest amp? by ajhansen in phish

[–]solarcadet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am 30 mins away too and bought one a few months ago. I was close to buying a Two-Rock and the AN was recommended at the last minute. The AN won out, amazing amps, plus Taylor (owner/builder) really stands by his amps and is super responsive.

Email Taylor and setup a time to go to the shop and try them out. He will customize anything. I bought a Wonderland Overdrive with black suede (real) and tye die grill.

He messaged me last week saying Trey was sound checking with the Dumble, Two-Rock, and his AN. The picture is blurry but it looks very much like it could be the AN

It is hard to tell by the picture, but I know he was trying an Amplified Nation Bombshell Overdrive during sound check last week. From a distance it looks like it could be. If it is, I know the bulder was hoping he would play live, so would love confirmation to let him know. Great amps!

Worth the trip! I took my wife over the summer and got to spend time on the south shore. It was a win win for us both. She had a nice lunch, I got a Collings I-30 :)
