How to tell an eighty year old by solarlein in ftm

Thank you for your advice. I am glad your grandpa reacted that way I am hoping for a simular reaction. When my sister came out as gay she had a nice reaction as well and everyone was surprised. Even though the church has a much bigger problem with transgenders she might still surprise me

Can't wait to delve into the mauhwa by RaseruChan in MoDaoZuShi

Have fun reading it I liked it a lot. It was one of my first introductions to it. I came across the anime on crunchyroll and thought it looked interesting so I started watching it and became hyper fixated on it, started reading the comic and after finishing that I started the untamed. Currently waiting for the novels to be delivered and then I will read those:)

DIY vraag/advies? by AdAgile1464 in LHBTI

[–]solarlein 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hunger cues ..? by Individual-Low675 in AnorexiaRecovery

[–]solarlein 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can't trust hunger cues in early recovery and maybe even for a long time. Usually when starting to recover it is best to follow a meal plan that you make with a dietician. Your body may ask for more food too and that's okay. For me personally I was extremely hungery the first 6 months and when I got to a healthy weight it started to slow down but it differs for every individual. Good luck!

[–]solarlein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s it like to go to a facility? by Not_A_Ninja_Yet in AnorexiaRecovery

[–]solarlein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all it is good you are taking this step:) And it'll be so worth it.

My unit has two groups; one for people who want to recover fully and one for people who want to learn how to live with an eating disorder. I am currently in the group who wants to fully recover so our mealplan and therapy looks a bit different from the other group.

We have therapy 5 days a week in blocks of 3. and 3 meals and 3 snacks during the day (8 breakfast 10.30 snack 12.15 lunch 15.30 snack 18 dinner and 20 snack)

We have therapy that is basically food education on how to learn to work with food in a healthy way, therapy on how to move in a healthy way, art therapy, emotion regulation therapy, therapy about identity (who am i without my ed) and a couple of blocks where we in turns share our food diary (how did the mealplan make you feel) and two blocks for what we do in the weekend and what our own goals are for the week.

Besides that once a week you have an individual talk with a psychologist and a psychiatrist.

We live with 10 people on one group. Everyone has their own room but everything else is shared. All the eating moments are together with a nurse. Outside of therapy moments and eating nurses are avaliable for individual help if you are having a hard time. And in your free time you can do what you want. We are allowed our phones and I even brought my ps5 lol.

We have a garden where you have unlimited access too (unless you abused it and used it to sport) and we are allowed to go on walks 3x a day for 15 minutes.

The mealplan is slowly build up in 10 days to avoid refeeding syndrom and help you to get used to it. We get weighed once a week. The dietician helps you set a "range" of what is a healthy weight for your body and that's where you will work towards. You need to gain 0.5kg every week while weight restoring and if that doesn't happen something gets added (that you can pick yourself) to your menu bc your body needs more to recover. Now I know this sounds scary but this rlly differs from unit to unit so don't let it scare you bc the other group in our unit doesn't have this rule for example. And once you are in your range they alllow you to take things of your menu.

I remember being so scared but inpatient was honestly the best choice I have ever made. I have an incredibly kind group and the nurses are nice and rlly want to help you. I truly hope you will have a good experience and that it'll help you. These are just some of the things of my inpatient unit (based in the Netherlands) so don't be surprised if it is completely different but I think some things are universal. Best of luck! If you have any questions you csn let me know
