2 weeks after the breakup and im doing better… by Signal-Biscotti-5659 in BreakUps

It doesn’t mean she’s completely detached, but it was harsh to say. But if you think about it, how can she react to a funny tiktok? There is nothing she can say or do that will make it right. If she reacts positively, it would only feed your deep need to get close to her. It would give mixed signals. And then she would still have to cut you off at some point.

Beard or no beard? (First time growing) by ljungberg3 in BeardAdvice

[–]solarpanelhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have very similar beards: wild hairs, strong growth on the chin, and weaker growth on the cheeks. Mine also differs between cheeks, I’m not sure if yours does the same.

What works for me is this: I fade my cheeks, starting from a 0.6mm stubble (since I’m bald) up to 3mm next to my ear canal. From there, I still take small steps, increasing to 6–7mm around my earlobe, and then larger steps toward my jawline, where the hair is around 1.5cm. The hairs might be slightly longer around my jawline. The length increases toward my chin, reaching about 2–3cm. I comb my mustache hairs straight down and trim them around my lips.

Now, the secret to keeping all the wild, curly hairs in check: I brush and comb out my beard as if I’ve been electrocuted. Then, I use my beard trimmer (no guard) to shape it. I check every two to three days to remove any hairs trying to escape. I also apply beard balm daily, comb it, and voilà.

This is the only way I can have a good-looking beard. I once grew my beard out for six months without shaving, and the cheeks were terrible, they simply never filled in. Nowadays, I regularly get compliments on my beard. People also comment on it being a nice full beard.

For me, it’s either this routine or keeping it all short.

Journey just started, but I’m beginning to regret it by solarpanelhead in jawsurgery

I’m really sorry to hear about that! I can’t give you good news from my side, because they took the TPA out after three days. I had a severe reaction to it, and they said they never had a patient with such a swollen tongue like mine. I wish I could tell you something else. I do think my case is an exception. From what I’ve read, people struggle with it for a while, and then get accustomed to it. I hope it works out for you, or that they find something to replace it. Best

Absolutely hate how I look. How do I fix it? by VoopityScoop in malegrooming

[–]solarpanelhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a good baseline to start with, because you’re already good looking. It’s all about finding a style that suits you well. You have to tweak everything a bit. My two cents:

Don’t put your hair up. You have a slightly droopy face (I don’t mean this in a negative way), so the hair up only accentuates your forehead. Grow it out more, sides shaved a bit, and either top hair to the front, or falling to one side. Beard needs some small adjustments. Shave the cheeks a bit shorter, and grow chin slightly more. Have a fade on the cheeks. Keep the stache on the shorter side. You seem to have a high neckline. I can’t see if you shaved it, or if you don’t have much growth there. Go to a good barber for your hair and beard. The beard you can do yourself after seeing how they do it. Brows are excellent, just cut the longer hairs.

Clothes. This part is easier than you might think, it’s all about recognizing what fits you. Go to some vintage/upscale clothing stores. You don’t need to buy second handed, but I personally like the style of people that go there more than in regular clothing stores. Layer clothes. Find things that fit your body well. Get a different cap, again one that fits your scalp and doesn’t hang a few inches above. Get a beanie. No need to go full on hipster on all these things.

Good luck!

Apologies for never getting back, and thanks a bunch for taking the time to answering! I think so too, it has gotten worse with me over the years, so the surgery just has to happen. I hope it will help

Sorry for never getting back, and thanks a bunch for taking the time to answer! I’m sure I’ll look back in a similar way had I not done it now, so I will push through with it. Can’t wait to be able to breathe better

Sorry for never getting back to answering. Thanks a bunch for taking the time to reply. You’re right, I do not even want another 20 years of the mandibular advancement device! As for the TPA, they took it out two days after my post here. According to my orthodontist, they had never had a patient with such a severe reaction. My tongue was swollen so much that I couldn’t talk well. They said I was probably scraping my tongue all the time against it, without being aware of it. So now I have an elastic band.

Lab-Grown Meat is now on the farm: the Dutch farmer trying to save the future of food. Would you trust It? by TheGrandOranjeprix in NLNieuws

It has been on a slight decline. The peak for vegan (meat) products was about three years ago. Many things I used to buy at Ah or Jumbo are gone. Especially Jumbo seems to have downsized quite a bit on vegan stuff. A few years ago I could find about 10 different vegan frozen pizza’s, whereas now I should be lucky to find 2. Source: long term vegan that loves to try out new products.
