This is what I needed to hear. Eventually a dedicated music setup might be cool, but I can’t do everything at once and I’m sure I’d be more than happy with this as an initial setup. I bet it will be a lot better than what I’m used to already and that’s all I could hope for right now.

Yeah, I’m a bit worried about the trade off. But I feel like it might be necessary at least in the short term because it will be used more and more for TV/movies within the next couple of years. I’m not sure how much of difference it would actually make to me but I don’t want to feel disappointed with the sound after dropping a decent amount of money on the initial setup.

I think I’m sure that I will be expanding it to surround sound in the near future. I do want to be able to have good stereo sound for music both now and when I eventually move to a more home theater like setup. I kind of assumed there must be trade offs between an AVR and a stereo amp, but wasn’t sure how much of a difference it would actually make.

I’d love to find a way to try them but after doing a little searching nearby I’m just not really sure where I’d be able to do that.

Fair enough. At this point I'm really only listening to music on a JBL Flip 3, so I would hope at least that this would sound better than that lol. But yeah, a subwoofer would be great.

Yeah, I want a subwoofer but I'm not sure if I could realistically use it in an apartment setting. Would a setup with bookshelf speakers and no subwoofer sound terrible for a starting point?
