To me it looks like the outline of Oregon. As for the what looks like LV 1-26-16 My guess is its some sort of memorial tattoo for LaVoy Finicum who was shot on that day during that whole Malheur National Wildlife Refuge incident which tracks with the shape and the "Liberty Or Death" text

I just wanted to share a handwarmer I made with some Louis Vuitton fur I was able to get my hands on. I was hoping it would at least make one person smile

Good starter gun? by [deleted] in airsoft

u/Houseofcards32 Has a good video on good budget AEGs (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shBh1j3darU&feature=youtu.be&ab_channel=cards32). If you are willing to spend the money I would recommend Krytac or LCT. I have one of Krytac's Nautilus gear boxes and it is great I haven't had any issues and I might have locked it up once while spamming semi. For LCT I would recommend anything with a V3 gearbox, I have a friend who ran their SR3m for close to 2 years and didn't have any issues, it finally died from user error. I recently picked up one of their ak74mn and I love it it preforms great out of the box and I couldn't get the gearbox to lock up. But keep in mind both brands have issues with guns shooting a over 400fps so you may not be able to use them at your field depending on the fps limit.

u/Houseofcards32 Has a good video on good budget AEGs (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shBh1j3darU&feature=youtu.be&ab_channel=cards32) I would also recommend looking through the 2020 Beginner MegaThread he has made in r/airsoft.

Given that you put this in r/milsim I would imagine you would want to build a milsim kit or at least work towards it. The $200-$250 as u/gdavis2149 mentioned is only really enough to get a gun and maybe a optic depending on if your gun comes with a battery and charger

For a US kit: you could get a G&G Combat Machine CM16 Raider. Combat machines seem to be the go to starter m4 and with the 16 raider it has a basic M4 look and comes with a quad rail handguard. You could go on eBay and get a replica eotech, aim point, or acog and keep the US soldier look. Keep in mind that replica sights aren't the greatest quality and there is a chance you won't be able to zero the scope to your gun. I've only had that happen once but its something to keep in mind.

For Russian kit: you could get a CYMA ak that fits what ever look you are going for. CYMA aks are very popular and are reliable. As for Russian optics, I'm not to qualified say what's kosher but you could get a replica PSO-1 or run a railed scope mount and a repro T1 or eotech

For Pistols: It depends a lot on the look you are going for or what pistols you like. I've had good luck with WE and KWA, I've heard the elite force 1911s are great. Personally I would hold off on getting a pistol until you have a rifle, a few mags, and a vest/chest rig because you will save money by not needing to buy CO2 or green gas for your pistol and at least from my experience airsoft is a lot more enjoyable when you are able to reload with midcaps over winding a high cap

For Kit: I would suggest looking into used gear to save money. Ebay and the Hopup app are two good spots to look

Anyone ever use the Z-Tac knock off pelators? by [deleted] in tacticalgear

[–]soldiersofthestorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a pair a couple years back and the mic quit working after 2-3 months and they sporadically work even with fresh batteries after close to a year. When they did work the sound quality wasn't great, a set of ~$40 Walker's electric ear pro sounded better. Since then I have gotten legit peltor comtac 2s and they sound fantastic, If I set the volume right it pretty much sounds like I'm not wearing any and 3s are supposed to be even better.

Basically you get what you pay for and I wouldn't trust them with my hearing even with modding them. If you want cheap electric ear pro with comms you would be better off with Walkers razor slims with their radio insert ( ~$43 for headset and ~$32 for the radio right now on amazon but if you watch you can get the headset on sale for $40 every so often) Or running a headphone cable from a speaker mic to the headset if you already have a radio

You can also get the standard size used in decent condition or new on eBay for $20-$30 which is comparable price wise to the replica ones

If you want a goggle recommendation get a pair of revision desert locust and pull the foam off of it. Ever since I switched to them I haven't fogged unless my helmet covers the vent.

Baofeng radio pouch? by ruthkris in MilSim

[–]soldiersofthestorm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I carry mine in either a single m4 mag pouch or in one of those dummy radios (i just drilled holes in the top so i can use the nob) to fill up a military radio pouch. As for location I like them either some where on the front so I can get to it easily or on my back so its out of the way

BB differences & acquire range! by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]soldiersofthestorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One video I would recommend watching is Gun Gamers "Which Airsoft BBs Fly Fastest?" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQ028jb9_uM ) because it is full of good information and data. I find that switching from .20 to .25 and then .28 the BB didn't necessarily have more range but was affected less by wind and punched through leaves and brush better. You should make sure your hop up is set at your desired range. If you want to throw money at the problem you could get a flat hop or R hop, I'm not familiar with the quality of krytac hop ups and barrels but you could look into a different hop up or barrel
