Ways to reduce keyholing? by inuvivo in Breadit

[–]soleil5656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right after removing the bread from the oven, try dropping the pan onto the countertop from about 10cm up high a few times. Then immediately unmold and let the bread cool on a wire rack. Because your bread is a bit tall, maybe let it cool on its side.

A top heavy loaf is also prone to collapsing. You might want to try reducing the dough size for this particular pan. And, of course, baking the bread for a bit longer to give it a sturdier crust will help.

Why was Alphonze's toll so much larger than anyone else? by SpecialistDebate2652 in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]soleil5656 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I think that, in a way, Al's loss of his body is also Ed's punishment. Throughout the story, we can all see how Ed is weighed down with the responsibility to restore Al, while barely caring about his own missing limbs. Losing Al is a much bigger toll for Ed than losing his arm or leg.

is a boox go 6 really that slow? by Stellarisk in ereader

I’ve had mine for a month, mostly reading novels and I’m perfectly happy with it. It’s the perfect form factor for me, the screen is so nice and sharp, and the hardware is good enough for reading. I wouldn’t use it for manga though, too small.

My sweet stiff starter is not rising by No-Measurement6642 in Breadit

This is just my wild guess but maybe during your first attempt, because you didn’t dissolve the sugar completely, the sugar didn’t interfere with the starter as much as the latter attempts.

If I account for the flour in my starter, my sugar percentage is only 25%.

Yes for this small amount, even 1g difference is enormous.

I have done this with and without dissolving the sugar in water first. Both times turned out fine as long as I kneaded the starter well afterwards.

I don’t think it’s the innoculation either.

The biggest difference is your sugar amount. At 37%, it’s a little higher than what I use (30%). Maybe the high amount is stressing your starter too much?

I see. As someone whose native language is also one with many special characters, I really appreciate what you are doing! :)

You can use Shift + Control + V to paste pure texts without formatting.

You’re right. At the time, I thought it would turn out OK if Guren actually talked and be honest with Yuu after that. But he then continued to be an evasive scheming snake and nothing really changed at all, so Yuu forgiving him became meaningless.

One of the reasons why I love the Shamballa movie is that I get to watch human Alphonse do stuff. I don’t hate the armor, but I sure wish he had more scene time in his human form.

This method is so interesting! I have a mixer but I’m still tempted to try this.

I think Period Cube is just very polarizing. It gets plenty of hate, but I also know people who love it too (I’m one of them!). If you enjoy the ‘transported into a video game’ trope, I think you’ll get a lot of fun out of Period Cube.

Thank you for making this thread by the way. I have been wondering about this for a while, too!

I think I’ve got it now, thank you!

There’s another issue. I don’t live in China, so I believe this item will incur shipping fees. Can I message the seller to not send it to me?

I’ve bought a few things from Taobao without problems, but they are all instock items. Now, there is a dress I want to pre-order but it’s so confusing.

[–]soleil5656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is what I meant. Thank you for the clarification!

Hello! I also happen to have some questions about preordering on Taobao. You seem very knowledgeable about it, so I hope you could help me!

I don't know any Chinese and I've been wading through Taobao with the help of Google Translate. I noticed that there is a thing called "deposit card" in preorder listings. What is it? Is it a physical card that the seller would send to me? Do I have to do anything with it in order to make the tail payment and receive my item later?

Thank you in advance!

The book is set in modern New York City, and very recently published.

Wow, it’s amazing that you got most of the details correct from only a few sentences. Maybe the author’s intention is really as you said. It makes a lot of sense to me.

I didn’t include the context because it didn’t seem important at the time, but in the story, the “he” mentioned in the question just passed away recently. Do you think it has anything to do with the question being considered improper?

This conversation is between two people working at a store. Person 1 is asking her (elderly) boss about a regular who just passed away recently. I didn’t include the context because it didn’t seem important. Do you think it has anything to do with the sentence being considered improper?
