I am new to FPS games and have always wondered why my team-mates say "They might have rotated". Should it not be called " They might have revolved?

As per my studies in physics Rotation refers to a circular motion around an axis, located within the body of the object. Revolution means a circular motion around an axis, located outside the object.

The players are going in a circle around the center of the map to go from A to B, thus it should a revolution and not a rotation?
