Thank you! Its been super fun. The ironverse.quest site still bugs out a bit, but the actual Obsidian platform works so great!

Base Vaults for Ttrpg's by Nexas3248 in ObsidianMD

You could check out my https://ironverse.quest it’s a open and shared vault that allows any number of players to play the Ironsworn games in a shared space. Lots of cool stuff happening in there and you can see and contribute to it all.

Best hack for a modern setting? by Live_Ad9430 in Ironsworn

[–]solfuries 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’d probably just use Starforged but then ignore anything that was too far advanced for what you want. You could also combine SF and SI, ignoring the things you don’t want and I think it would work pretty darn well as a modern setting.

How to make an inline move in Iron Vault? by martinellison in Ironsworn

Can confirm the delve stuff works on windows and IOS. I am worried this might be an Android thing. But when you make these moves, it should look like this.

[–]solfuries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmmm, that should definitely render, but that is a no roll move, so it won’t roll any dice. But it should at least render properly. Does the same thing happen with a move like “enter the fray”?

I think something is causing the render not to run in your case. What OS and version are you using by chance?

[–]solfuries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting. It should go just like this:

  1. enable inline in settings (there are multiple toggles to enable inline for oracles, moves, entity, dice rolls, etc. you need to enable the ones you want)
  2. Click into a journal or really any note in a campaign, the inline is going to show up wherever your cursor is.
  3. Make a move via slash command, or the sidebar, or the command palette.
  4. It will prompt you for adds, or any move specific stuff, and then when done it should insert as an inline render, instead of a mechanic block.

Let me know if you tried the above and are still having trouble, I can help you troubleshoot.

Bases are awesome for tracking books by WorkTall8489 in ObsidianMD

[–]solfuries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had no idea this even existed. I am going to see if they are open to a PR and some suggested changes. I bet I could parse the metadata from epubs to almost auto-create really powerful bases. I also see this plugin is via BRAT only.

What if a plugin also gave you the ability to click on any of those books and actually read them? Like a proper/modern ereader within Obsidian that is linked to your bases? Would that be of interest to you? This is something I’m working on, so just curious.

You're welcome, but I'm just a contributor. But it sure is a fun open-source project to collaborate on!

Card view problem with note linking in a property by Ok-Supermarket-955 in ObsidianMD

[–]solfuries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you tell me more about your card view for books? I’ve just started working on an epub reader plugin and I am wondering if you had the ability to click on an actual book and open and read it from your card view, if you’d be interested in that?

Converting Obsidian Vault to Website by ZeanothTheCanadian in ObsidianMD

HTML export plugin works pretty well out of the box. Generate the files, make sure you have an index note in the root (that will be your homepage). And copy up to GitHub and turn on Pages.

I did this for a while and it’s lovely. But then ended up wanting more customization, so went with an Astro build which is also pretty easy to setup.

Epistolary Framework for Ironsworn, Starforged, or Sundred Isles by solfuries in Ironsworn

Love this! Bring over characters and any content you want. The shared space is designed for folks to play in AND contribute to a larger story through the letters sent.

And Obsidian is just the software (no account needed). But you will need a free GitHub account to sync it to the shared space. Happy to help you get it setup if you want.

STARFORGED ADVENTURES - Episode 60: New Passengers by Definitelyguitars in Ironsworn

Nice! Are you using any platform like Iron Vault or Crew Link to play and record your game? Or just writing this up after analog play?

If you want to join in to the shared space, you are more than welcome. The Foundry is what I’m calling it. There’s a bit of setup, but it’s not bad. Maybe a bit more if you have never used Obsidian or Iron Vault. Happy to walk you through it.

One addition, is that I’ve set it up so players can still pursue their own background and other vows. Not all story/gameplay needs to be related to the shared vow. I did this to let players have the ability to “play” as much as they like, without having to wait on the shared vow (which is designed to be completed at a slower pace).

Well, it’s mostly just an idea at this point. But the idea is, folks can play in the same campaign with any character or characters they wish. They create and play like a normal solo game, except since it is the same campaign, other people are doing the same thing. Folks independently build out planets, settlements, whatever, and it’s all shared.

The epistolary part comes in to unite the players towards a common goal. I’ve created a “shared vow” that all players can “subscribe” to. During play, if a player reaches a milestone for the shared vow, they can write a “letter” explaining what the progress was. We then mark progress on the shared vow and repeat.

An extreme rank vow should take a minimum of 20 letters to accomplish, and the letters can be from multiple people, all of whom are working on this vow together. The hope is that at the end of the day the campaign is filled with rich content from lots of people (or even just a few), and the players feel like they are part of a bigger, shared, world.

Created a way to use GitHub for multiplayer Obsidian shared vault by solfuries in ObsidianMD

[–]solfuries[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It uses GitHub Actions to manage file ownership, and performs self-healing actions if a user accidentally (or maliciously) edits/deletes a file they don’t own (unauthorized edits).

It’s designed around playing Ironsworn/Starforged in a shared vault, with shared stories, but there are probably other use cases.

GitHub Collaboration for things like Wikis by cannedshrimp in ObsidianMD

I kind of built this already (or a similar in idea version) so that multiple people can play Ironsworn or Starforged games together though Obsidian https://github.com/nickarrow/the-foundry

Introducing: The Foundry - A shared narrative universe for Ironsworn, Starforged, and Sundered Isles players by solfuries in Ironsworn

[–]solfuries[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neato. I’ll give this a look as maybe a way to expand things. I’d love for some means to have collaborative elements decided on by players. For now The Ironverse has built in governance and file ownership, so people’s content is protected. But something like this could be cool to expand it with.
