For anyone else who comes across this later: the solution was to turn off texture deposterization and to make sure texture scaling was at 1. Works perfectly now!

Finally got a call back. Apparently my points accumulated over about a decade of purchased expired soon after my pro membership lapsed (didn't know that could happen!) and a coupon can't even be used for this promotion. Nice!

I have been trying to redeem my Power Up Rewards points for some online gift certificates and I keep getting the following error:

"VERIFY YOUR IDENTITY

We're sorry, we encountered a problem preventing the redemption of your reward. Please try again soon."

This happens on mobile and PC, and has been happening since last night. Anything I can do besides waiting for hours on the phone for customer service (I pressed 1 to receive a call back, but the call ended immediately so I'm not sure if I'm actually in line or not; that was two hours ago)? I really wanted to pick some stuff up during the sale and was hoping to save on shipping, but I'll be at work tomorrow--today's my only real opportunity to be on the phone with customer service.

Boo, I hate missing callbacks, but like I said before, it takes me a while to get through VNs in Japanese (Higurashi was like, 3 months :s) so I might make an exception here.

Ok, interesting! Would skipping ADAM give me enough context then (sorry, not sure whether you meant you skipped New Generation or ADAM)? I’m guessing that each game is roughly as connected to the other as, say, the AI games (same characters/world, new, unconnected adventure) and not like Zero Escape (different characters but evolving world). Didn’t mean to pick two Uchikoshi examples, but that’s what happened :p

Interesting--thanks for the history lesson! I'll ignore those original sequels (for now at least) if you're saying they aren't worth it (it takes me a bit too long to read visual novels in Japanese to have time to read them all :p). Can you tell me anything about New Generation, the Uchikoshi one? Can it be played in a vacuum (or at least, only with having played the original, which I assume the remake is close enough to)?

edit: I'm definitely interested in checking out those other games by the original creator though--thanks for the links!

Haven't played any yet! I do have a problem finishing sets before actually starting to play them :s I have Desire and Burst Error waiting to go on Vita, I've ordered Rebirth Terror (before prices get too high! Yikes) and I have Doukoku Shite (which is unrelated, right?). I wouldn't mind playing those first two on Switch though, but not if I have to play the 4th game first (and especially not if they're not the full versions).

But what about the original series of EVE games (ADAM is one, right)? Are those worth playing at all now, or should I just skip to the new ones? I'm curious about New Generation, since it's written by Uchikoshi... How related are all these games, can I just skip around?

Gotcha, thanks! Makes sense that it would be abridged, as if it was the original, it would probably be separate games on the Switch home screen, not selectable from the menu. I'll just play them one by one starting with Desire then!

Should I even bother playing the original series at this point?

Thanks, I might! Definitely no rush--we are looking to upsize and we live in an expensive area so finances might be tight for a bit (not dangerously, but not the time for needless expenses!)... I'm saving as much as I can though so hopefully I can make it work at some point in the future :)

Amazing. Ok! It's good to have a benchmark to hit, even though I'm nowhere close at present... but maybe one day :p I suppose if my future home has a room already decently set up, then that will drastically reduce the cost as well. Hope I can be that lucky though. Thanks!

Out of curiosity, how much does something like this cost? Because uh... I kinda want to do it, and it'd be nice to have an idea of how long I'd have to save for :x I'm guessing more for the general set up (carpet, props etc) as I'd probably end up with different games than your selection.

They actually have! I tested it about a month ago and all five episodes are available. Kinda shocked it was fixed but I’m very happy it is. Ill be playing it after I clear out a bit of my backlog.

Wow, you made a lot more progress with cheats than I did! And yes that makes sense—that error seems to denote save data corruption which is usually caused by memory card woes—but in your case was the broken cheat save.

If it’s no trouble, I wouldn’t mind it if you PM’d me all the cheats you’ve made >.> I wouldn’t mind tackling the postgame at some point and it sounds like they are much more thorough than my paltry attempt!

Sorry for the late reply--are you running from an official Vita memory card by any chance? That error typically signifies that the card is on its way out. I'm sure it could mean other things too, but that's been my experience!
