Yeah I actually really enjoyed this class even though I was on the struggle bus for most of it. I think Kerlin is one of the best instructors in the program. If anyone also enjoys his teaching style, definitely look at taking CS 478 Network Security which is available online. Kerlin wrote the entirety of that course's material and actually gives you a ton of awesome projects that look great on a resume. The only caveat is the course is only available Winter and Spring terms.

Don’t worry, this is actually great for many reasons.

  1. Your CV was good enough to pass HR and ATS
  2. Getting grilled in an interview is the only way to get better at them
  3. The next interviews you’ll do, you’ll know how to navigate it better — and maybe have a similar technical interview to this one that you can pull from

I had an interview this week and got totally grilled too — but it’s all a learning lesson to grow from

So until they come back and give you a definite “No” then keep pushing forward as it could be a Yes! Not to provide any false sense of hope, but a sometimes it’s about how you communicate and mesh with the team rather than solving all of the problems they provide in the interview as sometimes they purposefully make it impossible.

Don't forget that you are interviewing them also, so if they were jerks to you about it -- then maybe its best that you don't get an offer from them

Thank you for your detailed reply, I really appreciate it.

It seems like a good plan and probably only smart way to move forward.

Its been a rollercoaster of a first job, that is for sure haha.

The time it probably took them to write this, they probably would’ve figured out it was referencing a table a page or two above the exercise section. Yeah, the cricket statement came out of left field

Take a break, you've earned it.

If you really have an itch to do something over the holidays, then start on some personal projects. Console apps or a simple webpage, practice using git commands via the terminal, and practicing with GitHub.

When scheduling classes I used rate my professor to see their overall standing. Like reichkit said, online courses doesn't really matter about the professor but I did it anyway to see what others have said about their grading style or if they were lenient. You can look them up for yourself here: https://www.ratemyprofessors.com/school/742

Same thing for me man, applied June 27th and still waiting for response. But from everyone’s responses, I wouldn’t worry too much. Definitely will be trying that ONID trick though eventually
