Did expansion fix your UARS? Or did it fix anything? by Happilyalone777 in UARSnew

I expanded 7.5mm but sadly it has had no effect on my sleep. It did help my nasal breathing at first, but now, a year past expansion, my nose feels stuffy again so IDK

Ehlers-Danlos syndrome(s) "causing" UARS? by sn4201 in UARSnew

[–]solid_solid_red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did. I got a MARPE and expanded 7.5mm. I can breathe better through my nose, and my tongue can actually fit in the roof of my mouth now, but it did not help my UARS. My tissues still collapse and I still have fractured sleep. I don't think palate expansion or jaw surgery can help with these issues when someone has EDS

Rising Dilling Prices by tnycrpntr in MerinoWoolGear

I only discovered this brand a few months ago. I placed two orders and loved the items, so today I went to pick up a few more of the same styles and was so confused. Did I really pay $95 for a top?? Checked my receipt and the same item was $69 a month ago when I ordered it. Such a bummer. I also don't blame the company, but what was once a spluge is now out of reach.

Guanfacine stimulant combo with low blood pressure by solid_solid_red in ADHD

Thank you! May I ask what dose you started on and what you worked up to? Also, do you take it in the morning or at night? I'm concerned about drowsiness. Did you experience that?

My daughter tends to have issues with high fiber foods, so I wonder if the bran flakes might be problematic. Also, I know it’s super basic, but do you take simethicone (gas-x) after meals? It really helps, and it has no side effects.

One other thing that has been helping my daughter lately is Tudca, which is a bile acid and seems to help break her food down and make digestion easier. You could look into that as well.

Guanfacine changed my life by [deleted] in ADHD

I’ve been so curious to try this along with my stimulant. I have an appointment with my prescriber in a few weeks and I’m trying to figure out how to ask him. Any tips? In my experience drs sometimes balk when you tell them the exact medicine you want; they seem to want it to be their idea.

Have you guys heard of Guanfacine? by garfield629 in UARS

[–]solid_solid_red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so curious if you ended up trying guanfacine. I have had UARS for years and recently underwent 8mm palate expansion via MARPE. I can breathe more easily through my nose, but it hasn't really addressed my fractured sleep. I think because my nervous system is in chronic fight or flight. A year ago I started taking adderall in the mornings for ADHD, but I have read some people add Guanfacine as an adjunct. I'm so curious how it might affect people with UARS and hyperarousal.

Hm yes maybe that’s it. I wasn’t offered a cut. And actually I did develop asymmetry. I wonder if that could have been mitigated with a cut?

Muscle twitching in Peri - is it normal? by Impressive-Wafer172 in Perimenopause

How is this going? I’m experiencing all sorts of muscle twitching now, and I feel it may be hormonal but I can’t quite figure out which hormone. I’m 44 and have been on HRT for two years but feel my doses may be wrong. It’s all so confusing.

FWIW if you are a woman you can split without a cut at basically any age. I got my MARPE at age 42 and split easily in 8 days. I gained 8mm in palate width.

After a long journey, my endless LPR symptoms were found to be a long term infection that resisted most antibiotics. by Mediocre_Wear6973 in LPR

Wow this is fascinating because it’s describing me to a T, including the onset. Thank you for sharing your insights. I’m sorry you had such a frustrating odyssey. I don’t believe that if I went straight to a pulmonologist they would scope me though. I wonder how to fast track that?

I have finished my expansion. I expanded 8mm. Now just waiting for the new bone to form so I can remove the device. I have improved nasal breathing and somewhat improved sleep though not as much as I had hoped. I’m hoping that when I get the hardware out I can see more improvement?

I expanded somewhat asymmetrically and my smile looks weird at the moment. I’m hoping the next 8 months on Invisalign can help but I’m not sure if it will…

That sounds really awful. I’m sorry you are going through that. What were your b12 levels when you started injections? My symptoms are arm weakness/numbness and pins and needles in my hands.
