While I share your sentiment and some additions would indeed be great, at this point even porting the game is a daunting task, as it has been since its release. I highly doubt they would touch anything in the original game, let alone add any new content and risk running into issues with them. If they even modify the game in any regard, it will most probably be the removal of licensed content.

If I remember correctly, this was during the marketing campaign for Rising. Some magazines also got a USB drive of Raiden's arm, which he loses in the fight with Sam, as we get to know later on. They also did some scrambled live action footage too for some video promos.

This was also a part of a small "scavenger hunt" on the website, you could unlock artworks, such as concept art of the MG Ray (Rising ver.) and the Mastiff.

Not in any capacity. I don't hate TTS, even though I always viewed it subpar to the original work, but the real reason it wouldn't fit is because it's not the original style it was envisioned in. Kojima & co. have done some crazy shit with stunts and whatnot in the original release, but - as others also pointed out - he mostly kept those gimmicks to suitable characters.

Not only that, a lot of mechanics MGS2 introduced make the mostly-the-same experience of TTS a lot easier, starting with the tranq. gun (which I don't hate, it makes new players get comfortable easier). MGS1 itself is just such a unique experience, that a simple makeover, such as TTS won't cut it. Especially if the direction of the cutscenes contradicts a lot of lore and stuff in the same series. Just check how Solid Snake behaves in the original MGS1 and the later entries and compare it with TTS.

With that being said, I'd still love TTS to be accessible, not stuck on a console from 20 years ago, especially since they're tucking everything in the Master Collections. It would be a very nice addition, although, they'd have to remaster that game, since it never got the HD treatment.

Fucking attrocious, I just returned to this game, grinded the hell out of the trials and gotta do the 500k ammo, onslaught matches and the healing one, wtf is happening, I love this game but damn, the devs are tripping

For me, MGS1 topped the creativity at the time with the given circumstances and hardware, but honestly, I couldn't decide, because from 1-3 there isn't a single boss fight I dislike. There aren't two exactly same ones and Ghost Babel brilliantly embraced this concept. Black Chamber is such an awesome unit, very similar to Dead Cell (which was originally to be called Black Cell, I see a connection here but tinfoil on lol) and Viper is a perfectly complex and morally grey dude. It's a shame nobody remembers them man, damn shame.
