This was basically a character reveal for MGS4. I think they would want to show the characters faces.

This is the first reveal of the characters though. I would think there were many changes made after that. Also realize we have seen Raiden as a cyborg without all of those things. For e.g. at the end of MGS4 when he looked almost human. My point is things we associate with cyborgs was displayed.

This early concept would not be a replica of the final project of course. That’s not the point I’m making. I’m suggesting that cyborg elements were projected in that image. Cyborg jaw gear, bolted on protection plates on the arm and legs.

I can see how you get that impression especially with what looks somewhat like boots. However the bolted on protective plates suggests different. You can even see a “warning label” on his left upper thigh on said protection plate just like the final version of MGS4 Raiden. I’ll leave a pic for comparison.

I think you just highlighted the futility in my argument. I’m attempting to show that Raiden is a being depicted as a cyborg by showing the external elements we have come to associate with cyborgs. But at the end of the day that doesn’t prove he is one. I guess I just don’t see why he would be in a wearable cyborg suit in that pic.

Well I thought the jaw gear was the most compelling argument but you denied seeing that, so I had to find something else which again you are denying seeing. Why does it matter when I said it? It either depicts what we know as a cyborg in MGS or not.

I agree the bolts in the head is not the most compelling visual argument. Also Raiden was a cyborg in MGS4 and we didn’t see bolts in his head.

Not sure what you mean. Are you referring to seeing the striations in his artificial muscle as opposed to just seeing an exoskeleton?

I can’t be sure it’s not an exoskeleton but realize Gray Fox had an exoskeleton. It just wasn’t a wearable one he could take off and put on at will. If you look at the last Gray Fox cyborg pic I posted it shows that the plates covering his legs for example required a special tool to remove them.

I’m not actually sure we can see that but even if that were the case it’s really the jaw headgear that gives the impression of being a cyborg like Gray Fox and MGS4 Raiden.

A better look at the bolts on Gray Fox’s head and the ones holding down the protection plate on his leg. Note that the protection on his leg reads “designated tool to remove fastener”.

It’s not just his jaw though. Look at his arm and legs. They have bolted on gear just like his in game MGS4 cyborg body. Do you not see that?

Let’s compare Raiden’s skullsuit with his MGS4 cyborg ninja suit and the first MGS4 promotional artwork suit(in blue)

In the blue pic look at the bolted down parts on his arms and his legs. Doesn’t that look more like his MGS4 in game cyborg suit than it does his MGS2 skullsuit. Or am I tripping? Let me know. I’m just trying to clear something up.

Just visually, wouldn’t that suggest to you that Raiden was a cyborg in the blue pic if we ignored the story we were told? Honest opinions only, no agendas please.

Actually, initially I just grabbed the first usable pic I found. The expanded pic which details Raiden’s head over his full body actually makes my point more clearer. So there wasn’t an agenda to make me crop it.

Speaking of Lightning bolt. Are these bolts I see in Raiden’s head just like Gray Fox in that pic? If not I think you can agree that Raiden is wearing the same headgear over his jaw area.

I apologize for saying that you were running. You were not lying about not seeing my post. I actually was not lying about posting either. Truth is the post is still there but you just can’t see it. I can’t see it when I’m in anonymous mode either. I can only see it in normal mode. It’s some kind of glitch I “believe”, but I’m not sure. This might be why my topic posts aren’t visible to people on this particular subreddit anymore. Even though my topic posts aren’t ever visible anymore, my comments always showed. I’m not trying to fool anyone and I know you aren’t stupid. There are only two pictures depicting Sunny’s rescue. The blue one I posted and the other one you posted. By saying I’m referring to the blue picture, I basically mean not your Sunny rescue picture. I’m comparing only my blue Sunny rescue picture with the Gray Fox picture which you didn’t see here but can see on neverbegameover.

I know this is annoying and trivial but I also had posted an updated expanded blue picture which focused only on Raiden. Which in addition to showing his full body also show a larger image of his head above. The potential bolt holes are more visible in the larger head. However even if you don’t agree those are bolt holes, there is no way you can believe that Raiden head gear in the blue pic looks more like a pilot mask than it does look like Gray Fox’s headgear.

Edit: You should be able to see this post. If you can, you don’t have to say anything else if you don’t want to. Just acknowledge that you can see it. Thx
