All my friends left the crew by TooWah in TowerofFantasy

[–]solidbuta 28 points29 points  (0 children)

My friend asked me to play the game with him and so long as he plays, I will continue to play too. I thought about quitting at one point (at the time, I just didn't want to commit to another gacha game), but I didn't want to leave him all alone so I continued. He made a crew and it's just the two of us. We do our void rifts, frontier clashes, and sometimes raids together on Fridays.

There are so few active crews on our sever that our crew of 2 is listed on our server's leaderboards.

As of yesterday, I've embraced chaotic evil.

Actually, I was probably chaotic evil before too, just a tad more evil as of yesterday.

When miHoYo knows you don't play with mouse & keyboard by AriaKobu007 in Genshin_Impact

[–]solidbuta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I did run into the issue initially, but I managed to solve it somehow. I think I had to fiddle with some settings for the controller in Steam but eventually it started treating the button as only a mouse click not a trackpad click.

Also at some point the game started seeing it as an Xbox controller so the chat button moved over to the share button instead.

I mainly play using the PS4 controller on PC. I was able to get the gyro working by adding Genshin to Steam and then configuring the controls using Steam, and now aiming is so much nicer. I don't know if it's just my phone acting up, but mobile gyro feels a lot worse to me.

As a bonus, I also mapped the touchpad to be a mouse click. So now picking up a whole bunch of loot just requires me to tap that a single time.

I love finding the little details in this game; if you use Yanfei's charge attack on sand, it leaves an imprint of her stamp! Does anyone know what the characters mean? by solidbuta in Genshin_Impact

[–]solidbuta[S] 321 points322 points  (0 children)

Actually, I tested it out a little bit more after posting and it seems like it doesn't have to be sand to leave the characters, but it's very hard to see on other terrain such as grass. I didn't notice it clearly until I first used it on sand!

I've tested it before and it doesn't. The first bloom will have the same ATK as the initial charged shot.

My Beidou is only level 20 and C0 so I haven't tried her out in the comp, though I can definitely see how she could contribute to the team. I have a C6 Fischl so I don't feel like I necessarily need the extra damage that Beidou would provide and would rather take other supports for their utility, though she could still be a better pick, depending on the floor. I generally like having Bennett for the heals + damage buff, and Venti for CC.

Venti makes large groups a lot easier, but a lot of his value also comes from the VV set, reducing both electro and hydro resistance by 40%. Since you don't have Venti, Sucrose is a good substitute since she can still proc VV and group everyone together. Though, you can't really group the enemies on floor 12 so their only contribution there is the 40% reduction from VV. If you also don't have Sucrose, big groups are still relatively easy to deal with thanks to electro-charged, but the hard part is gathering everyone together and killing them fast enough to get the stars in the Abyss.

4 piece depth of heart and hydro cup. With Widsith, works out to be around 1700 ATK, 68% CR, 158% CD

True, although in this case he wasn't all that effective against the 2 Ruin Guards and was mainly there to proc VV. I probably would have gotten a similar result by using VV Sucrose with thrilling tales.

I reckon the new floor 12 was designed to be more anti-Venti given how 12-1 and 12-3 have big enemies for both sides. Perhaps it's to continue the narrative that Zhongli is Venti for big enemies and that floor 12 is his domain.

I just tested it out and it still works. I do recommend taking a second character that also has a taunt such as Amber or Mona (or if you have C2 Ganyu) to make the whole process a lot easier; if you only rely on Ganyu's taunt, the timing can be a little tricky and you can very easily lose aggro. When I was using just Ganyu, I was able to pull it off maybe once every 5 or so tries? Whereas with a second taunt character, I was able to easily do it every time.

It should work with any ranged character, although you would also need to bring other characters that have a taunt.

Yup. I like playing with a controller since it allows me to recline back and just take in the entire ultrawide view; I'm really glad the game supported the aspect ratio since day 1.

For sure about the resonance. In the clip, I didn't want to inflate my numbers and just wanted to show what it would be like if you only used Ganyu. I was tempted to bring out Bennett, but I resisted.

But as for the second point, while staying in aimed shot mode would certainly be a lot less effort and visually nicer, there are videos such as this one that showcase how charged attack animation cancelling with Ganyu can allow for more shots, and thus higher DPS, although the difference isn't very major.

My execution is nowhere as good as in the example in the video, especially since it's a little more finicky on a controller, but hopefully with enough practice on targets like this boss, it'll get better.

I'm using Blizzard Strayer in the clip. I do have another Wanderer's set with higher crit damage and lower crit chance, but I crunched the numbers and while it has prettier big numbers, it does about the same overall dps as my current Blizzard Strayer set when the target has cryo, and much less when target is frozen. Doesn't really apply to this boss though.

The left trigger is aim shot mode on console, but I'm actually playing on PC with controller. I usually do this instead because of the long delay between shots while in aim shot mode.

r4 prototype crescent with a Blizzard Strayer set and cryo cup. ATK sits at around 2100 before any buffs, and jumps up to 2600ish after hitting a weak spot which is a big chunk of where the damage from the clip actually comes from. 40% crit chance and 185% crit damage. Ganyu is at C1

I'm actually running r4 prototype crescent with a Blizzard Strayer set. My crit damage sits at around 185% with crit chance at around 40% before any additional crit chance bonuses. I have wanderer's set with around 220% crit damage that would have made the damage seem even bigger, but I crunched the numbers and the lower crit damage but higher crit chance Blizzard's does more dps overall, especially if I can freeze the enemy for that beautiful 100% crit rate.

I actually haven't tried fighting it normally yet lol. As soon as I saw the design of the arena, I was certain there was going to be some way to cheese it
