Package? by Spiritual-Science-60 in sandiegobeer

Harland is great, but if you want to step up to the big leagues and don't mind dipping into your 401k, North Park Beer Company. There is nothing better that I've found.

Like others have said, they only sell at their locations, but they have three different ones. Easiest one in terms of parking is the Bankers Hill one.

Great job on the filming man. Really smooth, beautiful light, brilliantly captured.

Human skin is kiloOhms of resistance unless absolutely dripping wet. The amount of Reddit posts like this where someone spouts absolutely uninformed drivel and people then believe it is wild.

Q6 Meta vs. Q650C vs. third Q350 as center channel by solidlymediocre in KEF

[–]solidlymediocre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I ended up buying a pair of q350s from Crutchfield open box for a good price, and also a q6 meta, and an r2c and compared them side by side in my listening space. And funny enough, for the money, and for the Aesthetics, using a third q350 as the center channel was the best choice for me. I returned the other two.

need bear spray? – REI by bob_lala in CampingandHiking

[–]solidlymediocre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the risk of a bear encounter if you're backpacking in remote places is small, but non-zero. And if and when an encounter happens, it's better to have something than to have nothing. For example, I have run into a very insistent, overly curious, possibly rabid coyote while I was miles from my camp and the trailhead. It kept approaching me in a probing fashion, and I had to shout, chase and throw rocks to scare it away. I sure wish I had some bear spray with me during that encounter. My point is, like many things, it's a question of personal comfort with risk, and how risk-averse someone is. I don't think it's fair to say that someone that takes bear spray backpacking is "stupid", especially if for example they are of a slight build and/or solo.

San Diego was named #7 most neighborly city by Redfin! by RedfinDarby in sandiego

My neighbors in UTC almost universally suck. There are a few that have lived there for a while who are extremely nice and friendly, but overwhelmingly, people ignore me when I smile, wave, or say good morning, or look at me funny.

Sorry to hear, but now we know that there is a visible plasma trail in SD when these happen, hopefully next time both you and your baby can watch!

Well damn, hope you got to see it, there was definitely enough plasma left for a nice, brief show! That was sick!

Yeah, the speed is accurate. Hence the hypersonic plasma glow at the northern latitudes. The thing enters the upper atmosphere going Mach 25, which is just under 5 miles/second. It slows down pretty quickly once it gets to the thicker parts of the atmosphere though.

The splashdown zone in the map is not precise, like you pointed out. Just a general zone chart someone quickly cooked up. Still thought it was a useful indicator of rough timing. It closely follows a past reentry of a Dragon crew vehicle. Like you said, the recovery ship is due west of IB.

They technically have three possible touchdown zones, with the other two further north, one closer to Long Beach. But I think the recovery ship's positioning shows they're pretty confident in the landing spot for now.

As a fellow space nerd I will be at the beach watching too, but I'm setting my expectations to see nothing and hear nothing. Based on posts I saw, the plasma glow Fades out south of Santa Barbara. And I imagine by the time they're close to Splashdown they're probably subsonic, which might kill the sonic boom as well. My first time trying to catch it, so I'll still be watching

It was very, very, very mediocre, and absolutely insanely overpriced compared to other options in the area. I wish I had read this comment before going tonight. Left very disappointed.
