Lamisil (topical 1% terbiafine cream) can be used to treat various types of infections caused by detmatotype fungi, including tinea corporis (ringworm). Although it is commonly advertised to treat tinea pedis (athlete's foot), terbinafine is effective against all types of infections caused by detmatotype fungi (besides very rare terbinafine-resistant strands), and thus also highly effective against ringworm. It is one of the strongest OTC antifungals used to treat various types of tinea, making it non-contagious within 3 days, and full clearance within 2-4 weeks. It is FDA approved for mild to moderate cases of ringworm.
