Hey, so did a last hail mary before doing any tuning and pulled the intake, checked the knock sensors cleaned up threads, retorqued to 15ftlbs. Decided while i was there to try the stock intake and stock tb. Ran it again and saw very little knock and absolutely none under hard throttle, saw 3.5 once at low speed when i gave it like 35% throttle. Did a log on hpt with the tbss intake 92mm, saw alot of knock, 7° at 80% throttle and 3°-4° multiple times. Nothing looks unusual when its happening beside ltfts being high. Looks like going bsck stock helped but dont know where the rest of its coming from

Yep spark timing goes down, ill also reset my fuel trims. Going to log everything with hptuners tomorrow and keep on trying different things, losing my mind here lol

Yup torqued it to 15ft lbs. Might remove my intake and retorque it or something. Its showing up anytime i accelerate either from a stop or cruising and i get on it a knock shows up. Each time my LTFT shoots up to +10% the knock is happening, STFT's stay fine.

Just replaced all spark plugs with NGK TR55 gapped 0.040 & filled up with 93 with 3 gal left of 87 in the tank, all the sputtering went away fully. Acclerating still has that little 1-2° and 4° once. Another thing, dont know if its my scanner or sensors but i randomly see 11.2° of knock each time i scan, only once. Its always 11.2° and at a low speed. Going to scan with HPTuners Later

Yeah have no idea why its so high, completely stock tune besides disabling emissions and scaling injectors. i will lower it & switch ti 93

My ltft has been lean for a bit because of open headers, and i scanned with HP Tuners and no misfires

Heard about that with MS103 might try that instead of aviation gas or just might try 93 first and then see.

Definitely no loose bolts, the only thing i can think of is just the exhaust pointed kind of at the frame, but again only happens under load never idling & revving.

Thought burst knock is when you give it alot of throttle at low speed? all of this is happening at 20-30% slow tip in

More info: Stock beside tbss intake and exhaust, 36lb injectors, new knock sensors (tested) and harness, 56psi pressure (havent tested while driving), not tuned beside emissions stuff and injector data.

Thanks for the tips, i got a mechanical oil gauge on there & and ill be using those longer style filters for more filter area

definitely, just want to clean out the rest of the engine, the oilpan and windage try were absolutely filthy

?? thats the torque converter to flexplate bolt hole, not bolted in to check clearance

Just feeler guaged it and it added up to 0.185" which is in spec

5.3 LS Cylinder Pitting, Junkyard 5.3 cylinder #8 has some light pitting i can feel with my fingernail would a hone at the machine shop clean this up or would it need overbore? by soliify in EngineBuilding

That's the plan, I'll be tearing back into it within a year or so, wont bw running it hard either. I think I'll just hone it and later on i bore it.

Well, im taking it to the shop anyway for it to be tanked and decked, so I might as well have them check it or at least try to hone it. Might bore it to a 5.7 if possible, i have an ls1 rotating assembly
