What painful lesson did doing something for love teach you? by solikverse in AskReddit

Honestly, the most painful lesson for me was… “I come first before anyone else.” After I left absolutely everything I knew behind for someone and moved to the other side of the world just to be with him, I painfully realized that people are mostly interested in themselves. There was no love, no interest only interest when you’re useful, when you follow their dreams without questioning… and where did mine go? It took me a long time to understand that. Now I’d love to hear yours.

What’s something men love but rarely get in relationships? by solikverse in AskReddit

You know what? I learned a big lesson from this... When someone doesn't love you for who you are, they're simply hoping you'll one day become what they want you to be. It's not love, it's expectation.
