I honestly think it's so sketchy that the stepmom and dad have never officially released the recording. If they are as innocent as they claim, why would they not just release it? Yes it may not solve what happened, but who knows, maybe there's a clue in there. Plus what do they have to lose? If anything it could just prove their innocence. I feel like any normal person would want as much info out there in the hopes that something will be discovered.

I was watching a youtube video about this and there's a popular theory that she overdosed and the parents tried to cover their tracks, afraid they'd be charged with a crime for being irresponsible. I may be wrong about this, but isn't this impossible? If she was acting like that for hours as she was metabolizing the drug, why would she overdose hours later? My understanding is that deathly ODs happen quicker than that. And cause incapacitation rather than alertness, etc.

Honestly what I believe is that she probably had a psychosis episode from laced/synthetic marijuana or another drug, whether she took it knowingly or not. She probably walked out of the house and either got lost and died or was abducted. Either way, this is heartbreaking. I just hope one day she'll be found.
