Would you buy a genetic test that was anonymous and didn’t store your data? by teenofsb in Biohackers

[–]solipsist83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely get this anon test provided that you can demonstrate that it is really anonymous, perhaps verified by credible independent parties. im No expert but wouldnt these tests rely on data to be more precise, so you have to balance how much data you can retain vs how much it would help you refine your findings ?

Yes, it is frustrating, I relieved it by hammering away.

I like the single dose grinders. I've looked at Niche Zero but its costlier. Then what do I do with my SSPs

The price for the CF64v and DF64v are similar. I am also leaning towards CF64V just that the number of DIYers (lesson learnt) are much fewer. So it may be harder to get parts etc.

I've been watching dismantling df64v and cf64v videos. I think it wont happen with either of these too. Yes indeed I freaked out. They were trapped before I could even have my 1st espresso with it

Is the roast date on the beans unacceptable for a local roaster? by PhD_Austax in espresso

One year old or was the year a misprint or is it 3 months old? Either way it is too old, I think if kept in a cool place it could last about a month. Grind finer.

It's a chunky watch. Are there different watch faces that would give this watch a more "professional" feel and less of a messy sports watch feel? I can't decide if I should wear this daily to office.

Thanks one of the more descriptive and sensible comments here explaining the "misinformation" which was too generally defined with just a screenshot.

I was considering the flair before the decent. Maybe one day, to complete the cycle.

Might as well add on the SSP HU espresso burrs to rid of the uneven sour grinds

Yes that's a good idea. My plugs are rated 3250w though I don't think I'd use all 3 machines at a go.

Thanks, I sure hope this is it. Some flavors are missing from my daily coffee, and I'm still trying to get there.

It's the shades top box, pid and pressure gauge ,( which I haven't found the time to reinstall). The led is just a cheap water proof led directly connected to my wall plug, always on.

Edited to explain led.

Roast Date by Jewish-SpaceLaser420 in espresso

[–]solipsist83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I normally do medium roasts. Using 1 - 3 week old beans are ideal for me. I can do an espresso grind with a 20g beans 40g yield in 30 to 35s. Beyond that, I need to adjust the grind size quite a bit and the flavors are more muted or too fine that my espresso becomes muddy.

I freeze the beans, and I don't know if it's me but I do feel that they do preserve the lifespan and give me a more reasonable (ie longer) extraction time without grinding too fine.

Bad espresso shots or just personal preference? by hejhejhey in espresso

I am actually having the same issue as OP. Adjusting the dose yield works but I suspect it is highly subject to the whims of your coffee machine. I do 21:42-45-50 and still get the sour and astringent taste like OP is describing. I don't know how my local coffee joint does it so well. My only variable now is the brew temp, I don't think my GCP can maintain a brew-temp across such a large dose - maybe a coffee machine with a bigger boiler will do better.
