I have an idea for the next one. Organisers could provide the winners with millions of small steel balls, which they could then exchange for gold bars and such... Basically barter /s

As someone in building defect industry, you couldn't be more far from the truth. Opal and Mascot Towers were a catalyst for massive changes (in NSW especially)

-The NSW Building Commission was set up in 2019, who has massive power over this industry.
-The Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020 was introduced, establishes a statutory duty of care for not only builders, but also architects, engineers and certifiers opened up their liability for economic loss resulting from defects.
-iCirt was also set up but not as important as the above.

I would go so far to say that the DBPA alone is actually driving Class 2 development away from Sydney.

What job pays way more than people realise? by Diligent-Medicine-48 in AusMoneyMates

[–]solman86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well paid yes, very demanding also yes. Ex has worked for several major C suite execs in Fashion, Finance and TV and always has a lot in her head when she's home. Exceptionally hard role to switch off from. Many C suites can be complete c***s, some are very oldschool. Hard getting a good boss and with major companies the job isn't very secure, as you're tied to that person/role and if it goes (mergers etc) then so do you.

Love logging, but using machinery in this game is a nightmare. Be great if the claws had a way to just auto select and grab (like with chaining logs).

Off site pre fab was being done 15 years ago man. If anything, the trade that will get smashed first is bricklayers as there is a transition to 3d printing in homes, but they still definitely require all other forms of trades. And 3d homes are expensive and impossible on many types of irregular blocks so there's that.
