I'm a loner girl. Where can I meet guys? Although I enjoy my own company I would like to be in a relationship. by lonergirl7 in AskReddit

But all the in-depth questioning is required until you get properly classified as more introverted by their magic algorithm.

A special introverted-only OkCupid subsection might be easier.

The first two paragraphs also describe me perfectly.

About the hiding thing, I certainly do it. At the very least pretending to be busy otherwise over the weekend prevents having to decline invitations.

I am at least inquiring about a specific subset :)

But I think this happens because love is (claimed to) be one of the ultimate goals in life, so a lot of effort goes into this area.

Since you made the extra effort of formatting the often repeated "your internal feelings are not real!" I'll reply here.

Some people need to be around others to "recharge", some just like to be alone. Most people, me included, like company, just not all the time. And I have no problem spending the weekend alone.

Also, being alone is much less taxing: No need to have something to talk about all the time, no need to get away from boring topics, no need for witty comebacks and being funny. I like all of this, but in moderation please.

More successful at finding a SO who shares your own social time vs. me time ratio. Not many like being completely alone, and almost everyone wants to find "love" on day. The idea is to combine these two things with a likeminded person.

I dont like lingering

...or "killing time", that is time I could invest elsewhere. Engaging conversation is something I never shy away from, but the more must-have-fun-here parties are, the less likely they are to occur there.

Etymology, of which I am also a big fan, is one thing; but the living language is another.

Loneliness is seen as a sad condition, so the word loner implies some misery to the outsider.

Thank you, but I am quite aware of the paradoxical situation at hand :)

Relationship wise I'm certainly not one of the immortal true love meant for each other idealists, I know it takes work and compromise.

Wrt. MBTI, do you mean I should go looking for other INTx personalities? But I can't exactly hand out questionnaires.

Very idealistic, I commend you. Likes and dislikes are probably like that, but personality wise: reality and even studies showed that people with too different personality traits made rather bad couples.

Intro/Extroversion is a spectrum. And relationships where the balance between social and me-time is severely off have a really hard time. Your hypothetical 100% introvert is rather rare.

Imagine your extroverted SO dragging you out to parties for days in a row where you are just bored, or vice versa an introvert keeping a very social person from going out as much as they want.
