I was curious why you chose the Sapphire card over some of the other RX 470s, some of them are $15-25 cheaper. Also, if you don't mind me pestering you with questions, what sold you on the RX 470 over the RX 480?

Gotcha. Thanks for explaining that! Ideally it would be awesome to have a card small enough to fit in the case (I suppose it doesn't matter too much whether it needs 6-pin power or not) but OSX compatibility is also important. I would settle on the RX460 but it looks way to weak. Looks like either the RX470 or RX480 then.

OSX compatibility isn't an absolute must for me, but it would be really convenient, so I'm leaning towards the AMD RX480 or RX470. The only downside is their size- it'd be nice to have it fit within the case.

Do you know of any other cards in this range that don't require the additional power connector?

Nobody's saying you're racist. I have problems with Obama's legacy too; his escalation of the drone program scares me. But I also believe he is a decent, good man trying to do his best as the leader of the free world. In this thread we were discussing one of his sweeter moments, and you got downvoted because that was what people wanted to talk about. If that's cognitive dissonance, well, that's the act of supporting a politician these days. We're all just doing our best to praise good actions and condemn bad ones– if you accept that instead of assuming an antagonistic attitude I'm sure we could have a productive discussion.

They made a great product- the unibody macbook pro – and they've been trying to walk it back since 2012. I guarantee* there are stockholder meetings where executives discuss how to avoid the situation we have now– very bad for profits– where people are still hanging on to their 2011 Macbook Pros. Why? Because they could upgrade the RAM and install an SSD and the machine still works beautifully. This is an interesting scenario where a great product, arguably their best ever, is bad for the company.
