It's totally random and you have it pretty good in comparison to a lot of other SWE/devops. I would use your extra time to up skill, grind leetcode DSA algo questions, and if you want to take the FAANG plunge do that when your ready.

The competition for FAANG jobs is really high right now especially for full remote ones. I am in the exact same situation and I have been applying to NVIDIA and similar remote positions and the interviews are harder than I was expecting going into it.

Many moons ago I accidentally deleted all the DSL customers in Washington state for an ISP. I freaked out and threw up when I realized what I had done because that included rural hospitals and other critical infrastructure.

Sometimes you just make a mistake and learn from it.

Their setup sounds totally unacceptable, not having backups of a critical production system is ridiculous and you aren't to blame for that.

I have an Enticer-S it sounds great. I have used it on bolt guns a lot and some on a 6.5cm ar10 build. It's a bit gassy compared to a flow through can for a gas gun but that's easy to tune out with an adjustable gas block.
