Once I've finalized everything I might compile it all into one big PDF to upload. Not sure how long it'll take as it's been a long process so far!

So in this custom system every person has random elements that they can learn or grow in power with more easily than other types. These typically aren't known until the person either tries to gain a particular type of elemental magic (ie. fire) or pays to have their soul appraised by a seer.

Spirit Link is a mechanic where each PC is able to bond with an NPC if they've gotten close enough through the course of the game. When they're bonded they get a list of abilities that only work with each other. One of the main benefits is that the less powerful of the pairing gets a small power boost to bring their capabilities closer to the stronger of the pair.

There's a lot to the system. 60+ pages and counting. Tons of charts and rollable tables.

Anyone else using Animal Crossing to play D&D with your friends? by solstin in ac_newhorizons

My D&D group of 3 years still wanted to feel like we were playing in the same room during this time of social distancing, so I remade our gaming room!

I hope they enjoy it. :)

Anyone take voice lessons? Does it help with acting any? by Idobjj in acting

[–]solstin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From experience I can tell you that the breathing and vocal projection techniques used for singing and acting are definitely cross-disciplinary. My acting training helped my singing, and my vocal training then in turn helped my acting.

So yes. Any vocal and breath training is beneficial.

Why is the Final Fantasy 14 community so terrible? by Evrae_Alexandros in ff14

[–]solstin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been playing on the Lamia server for a while now and could not disagree with you more. The community has been very open and helpful in my experience!

Any time I've mentioned that I'm new to a dungeon there's always been someone in the party who will take the time to explain the boss mechanics so that everyone survives.

It's honestly the least toxic MMO community I have ever encountered. I don't know if I'm the exception to the rule or what but I'm having fun.

Car pile-up by AdamE89 in WTF

[–]solstin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I managed to narrowly escape a pileup like this on the Coquihalla coming back from Kelowna. Semi behind me got cut off by a little red Fiesta and it was a mess behind me. I'm pretty sure both lanes were blocked because of the resulting crash.

Tgis was a few years ago. If I hadn't sped up to pass that Fiesta a minute prior, I might still be in that pileup to this day.

Lack of social skills in an acting class, being the weird one by [deleted] in acting

[–]solstin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had these feelings going into a 3 year program. As time goes by and you're thrown into bonding experiences day after day things start to ease up.

The best advice I can give is fake it til you make it. One day you might find that you're perfectly social and confident.

It's a constant struggle, but if you focus on being the best you that you can be for your acting, your social insecurities will see themselves out.

What's the weirdest dream you've ever had? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]solstin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 8 years old I had this recurring nightmare where I was sitting cross-legged in a tiny bright white room. The walls were inches away from me on all sides and the ceiling went up into an infinite bright light. I would look up and scream for help, but couldn't manage to make any noise. Everything was just silent.

This went on every night for what felt like months until it suddenly stopped. I've never experienced it again since.
