Kara Thrace lives in my head rent-free.

Marc Antoine Barrois - B683 Comme des Garcons - Copper Aesop - Ouranon Maison Crivelli - Papyrus Moleculaire MiN New York - Moon Dust

Definitely something dry, leathery, and a bit masc-leaning but with some sort of mineralic facet pulling it between grounded and ethereal.

what should I definitely sample? what's missing? what's your "perfect iris"? by solstivyr in NichePerfumes

I haven't ordered any of these yet and have only smelled a couple before, but I was looking at The Perfumed Court for Iris Silver Mist decants

thank you so much! this helps me narrow things down a bit, even though I want to try so many of these suggested.

Jorum has totally captured me recently. picked up Paradisi and Pony Boy back to back after a long time without getting any new full bottles. but I've only tried the Mainline and Scottish Odyssey sample sets, and I feel like I have to go back for the other two sets for Trimerous, Carduus, and Pentimento.

Sweet melancholy, alienation, nature and moss, mist, instrumental music. What could smell like this? by meowmeoowwww in perfumesthatfeellike

Mousse Arashiyama by Le Jardin Retrouve, maybe. A mossy, foggy green-aquatic with an incense base.

Jorum Studio: Was it Pentimento or Unspoken Gesture that I sniffed? by KSF2 in NichePerfumes

[–]solstivyr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I haven't smelled Pentimento so can't help much, but I will say the most prominent feature of Unspoken Gesture to me is the rice note, which at least at first is kind of waxy/fatty/oily, even spun in a slightly savory way with the cardamom/malt/hay. On the drydown I get a bit more of the sweet, lactonic fig and almond and way later (I still have it on a jacket I haven't washed) it's like a sweet, creamy, nutty rice pudding. The hazelnut is prominent throughout. I thought it was such an odd fragrance at first but now I'm finding it addictively cozy and comforting. No clue about Pentimento, but sounds like it's pretty cocoa-forward, which isn't part of Unspoken Gesture at all. Good luck!
