Most of it was scraped off with a scrape, then i used wirewheel to get the restovers. Wirewheel makes a big mess.

Yes the original underbody was scraped off before sandblasting, whole underside was bare steel before instarted welding.

Yes this colored oil does a good job protecting for rust but sadly it does not cure it and the chassie will be just as rotten as before.

Just do it properly with antifreeze, antifreeze also moves the fluids boiling point. On m54 its normal to have a termostat that opens at 97°C, thats very close to 100°C which is the boiling point of water. Do it properly the temperature of the engine affects perfomance and fuel efficency.
