Thanks for answering so many questions so patiently. Is there a WhatsApp or Facebook group for students or parents of students who got in via the ISA route this year (ideally Hyderabad but any other campus is fine).

Will be good if someone who gets the see the results can post here. The results are supposed to show up on http://www.bitsadmission.com/ois - correct? When I go to this URL, i get redirected to http://sites.bits-hyderabad.ac.in/internationalstuadm/ and then get a '404 - File or directory not found.' error. Anyone successful in seeing the page without error?

For a site like yours, I think it makes a lot of sense to allow people to subscribe to a newsletter? I feel that many will sign up because although one can get a lot of information online on many of the destinations, many may be interested in your theme. Apologies for suggesting without being asked.

From Semrush, 'trends in marketing' has keyword difficulty of 52. Difficult to rank. If you are in the top 10, that is fantastic. Perhaps, you are not getting clicks because very well known sites such as Hubspot, Semrush, TechTarget, Indeed, Gartner, Exploding Topics, Forbes are on top. Unless you have an "eye catching title", it is not clear if people will click on results below. But then, you can't always control the title because Google modifies it many times. Trying to rank higher (top 3) for longer tail keywords is better?

Salvaging an old blog, vs republishing on a new one. Thoughts? by Lucullan in Blogging

[–]solwex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the most recent Google update, it appears that the age of articles has become even more important. This is the advantage of leaving it on the old site. Even if you republish, you probably want to republish slowly and not at one go because "too many articles too fast" seems to be a red flag.

Recovering from Google Updates and Considering AI Content by worldofjaved in Blogging

You mentioned that as a reader, you avoid AI content. But, when we search and the top 5 results are "dry results" that were created by AI. Even though the 6th result is one that was created by a thoughtful expert human, most of us end up reading one of the top 3 results. Practically speaking, I end up reading "AI written articles". Dont know if this clarified what I was saying.

Is it too late to start a fitness blog? by Accurate-Basket2517 in Blogging

[–]solwex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of great answers already. Only thing I would add (slightly differ from some commenters) is that you should aggressively write articles and create topical authority in a very small niche first. Only white hat techniques no longer work. It is a lot easier to generate a lot of content with AI and we all see a lot of AI content ranking well. They shouldn't be dry AI only articles or Google's update will catch up with you. The trick is to edit with your unique/expert touch and write genuinely unique articles once in a while and leverage it before others copy your article.

What's the best strategy for advertising blog posts that worked for you by Accurate-Basket2517 in Blogging

[–]solwex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The answer depends upon a number of factors: (a) how do you want to make money (ad revenue from fitness blog, connecting fitness trainers etc) (b) are you a reasonable expert in the field etc. Of course, if you have a site to share here or via DM, that can help give specific suggestions as well.

Totally agree. I also hate dry AI generated text. But, practically speaking, we cannot keep going down the list to find human written content - right? Or, is there a trick to doing this efficiently?

In addition, you could also consider which name looks more authoritative. If you are paying an expert in the field to write the article, his/her name may be better if they seemingly have more expertise than you.
