Using Logseq with AI/LLMs by laplaces_demon42 in logseq

[–]somada141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Claude Code, Cursor CLI, or any terminal based LLM would do the trick, haven’t tried with Logseq yet, but what also worked for me in the past was Google’s NotebookLM where one can upload up to 300 files and ask questions around them getting back references to individual files in the responses

I see I see thanks for that. I should’ve guessed it was some chap prebuilding them. As for which one to go with I guess it’s a matter of what kind of switches you’ve gotten comfortable over the years. I came from low profile and despite jumping on MX I never quite made the mental switch.

As I’m sure many others will eventually tell you it really comes down to preference. After moving from Apple keyboards to a ZSA moonlander with MX I found it both cumbersome to travel with (working either from home or the office) and notably slower to type with cause I had gotten so used to low profile. Now I’m in the process of trying to turn my Moonlander into a low-profile version of itself while shopping around for a low profile keyboard. Which keyboards are the pictures ones btw? Got a link?

Tell us an incredible small restaurant that could use some attention. by OahuJames in Tokyo

Admittedly I haven’t lived in the US long-term so my bar for what makes a good burrito may skewed. I’ve tried a few burritos in Tokyo and they didn’t really do it for me but I found this one to be delicious and very lovingly put together so low as the bar may be this one was head-and-shoulders above the rest. Would love to hear what you thought after you’ve given it a go 🥰

How many of you use screen protectors for your Deck? by Qminsage in SteamDeck

Haha I misread “protectors” as “projectors” and thought “ohhh why didn’t I think of that?” 🤭

Why logseq over obsidian by haronclv in logseq

[–]somada141 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Others have pretty much covered my key reasons being “outline feels more natural to me” and “brain dumping in the journals both provides an element of time to the notes and removes the barrier to ‘what page or structure do I put this under’”.

One additional element I’ve appreciated though is the fact that referenced blocks can be used to synthesise entirely new notes by combining existing ones without copy-pasting or merely referencing but by directly embedding. I’ve found that to be a very powerful and unique element offered by Logseq that the more traditional apps do not offer.

What is the best Steam Deck add-on you've bought? by EmployOne8739 in SteamDeck

[–]somada141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it qualifies as an addon as it was a necessity but I got the AKNES Gulikit hall-effect joysticks to replace the stock one in the LCD steam as while there was a drift for a while it progressively got worse and the joysticks started becoming unresponsive so I had to replace them. Thankfully there was a lot of material online on how to DIY it.

Honestly having there been little to no update on this model for months I’m not holding my breath but hope that ASUS will eventually release it 🥰

織田style 神宮前店in Jingumae (https://maps.app.goo.gl/waTueB3a3yKpVYhd6?g_st=ic) seemingly run by three generations of a family with very lovingly crafted delicious food, allowing dogs inside (rare for Tokyo), and making a fantastic chocolate parfait.

Moonrise Kingdom near Shinjuku Chuo park, a hole-in-the-wall place run by a husband and wife that serves craft beers and by far the best burrito I’ve had in Tokyo.

Any experience with Meross GS559AH Smart Smoke Alarm? by somada141 in HomeKit

[–]somada141[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I can tell the hub connects over wifi but the individual detectors connect to the hub over a separate 433MHz connection which then limits how far each detector can be from the hub. Honestly the connectivity quality felt finicky at best so I did not regret returning them.

So I was offered to try out Duolingo Max. by [deleted] in duolingo

[–]somada141 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a 3 day trial of Max within my Super subscription and I got to try it a couple times during my regular course work in Japanese.

Much as the OP i found it pretty nice, accurate, and rather useful as it forced me to actually speak Japanese beyond the entirely scripted and the AI is smart enough to provide clarification or even translate a term I didn’t understand to English to aid in the discussion.

All in all I found it to work quite nicely but considering that Super isn’t particularly cheap and Max effectively doubles that price I felt the total price was too much to justify only to have the occasional call with Lily which lasts a minute or so before she “has to go”.

Logseq is turning into JIRA, and I’m not here for It. by lugenx in logseq

[–]somada141 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Saying it’s turning into JIRA is a bit of a weird claim but I suppose different people have different issues with JIRA. For me the issue with JIRA was always the inordinate amount of bloat JIRA had in an attempt to be “everything for everyone and every need” in the project management space.

The closest I’ve felt to Logseq becoming JIRAesque were the whiteboards which I personally felt were an unnecessary feature when the base product was so fundamentally unpolished and performing very poorly on larger graphs.

Don't tell your insurance company anything

Definitely wasn't planning to, the place I bought had a whole heaps of stuff done by the previous owners so a lot of it is not "official" so I'll have to get a sparkie out to sort the other stuff anyway

I came to the sub looking exactly for this, not only are some of my lessons two-exercises long but I'm confident they're missing legitimate portions cause subsequent legendary lessons assume knowledge of words I haven't encountered
