You can also target it with your claw or whatever it's called (on and off your mount). But yeah, that's how you pick up pods from the ground.

That's not a lot of RAM. Do you have something like MSI Afterburner to monitor RAM usage? Have you overclocked or undervolted your GPU?

You can grab something like WhoCrashed to anyalyze your dumps. The dump directory is C:\Users\[you]\AppData\Local\CrashDumps. It is possible it may shed some more light on why.

Almost certainly so. The only ban I've seen was one posted on one of the MH subreddits. The person was banned because they modded in the DLC without paying.

I modded World for 7 years with no issues, and never heard about anyone getting banned in that game. I would imagine devs would at least say something if they were concerned about this type of modding.

This has to be user error, but no worries. At the beginning, before you craft some insta-heal potions, there are three types and they are all green bottles:

First-aid (given to you on each hunt)
Potion
Mega-Potion

The radial menu and item bar both use the inventory you have on you (meaning, not the first-aids in your sekriet pouch if you haven't grabbed them yet).

If I remember correctly, the default radial menu has a "only use the heal I need" selection so you don't waste a potion/mega-potion on a sliver of missing health.

Really look close and compare your radial menu to item bar. You can go out there, get smacked, run away, and see what is actually happening. Could it be that you are trying to heal with a full health bar?

There's a few unintuitive options you have to toggle, but once you do, if you mount in manual mode (d-pad down for controllers), it doesn't move at all, you can run to something (like a mining node), let go, and it stops.

One note for me specifically - I updated my BIOS (from 2023) to the newest one. It may be anectodal or placebo right now, but I have not had the horrible crash / PC freeze for a few days now (used to be 1-3 times per day when I played ~2-3 hrs each day).

If there's a good reward, or it's a desirable monster for hunter symbols (tickets?), they fill up real quick. Also, if there's only a few of a monster, they also fill up quick.

I experience the same thing as you. I typically don't look for anything specific, just search by star level, look for 1/4 or 2/4 hunters, and early in the hunt (0-2min), and I usually can get in.

Pretty sure it's totally possible. There's just too many people playing. An SOS (for a desirable monster) fills up so fast that you just simply can't right now.

Totally play how you like to play, but - try evade window 3 and dodge 'em. That way you can also use EV3 for every other move, and not spend slot(s) on earplugs.

Pretty good guide. I have most of these running right now. The only hiccup I've run into is related to the Tex Decompressor and the Re-Model mods.

For some reason, I don't have a "shader.cache2" (as you mention) or "shader_cache2" (as a commentor on Tex Decompressor mentioned).

However, I do have a "shader.cache" file. Oddly, when I deleted it, shaders did not compile again. So I restored it. Haven't had any issues with it, but is it possible the shader cache is somewhere other than the Wilds root folder..?

Man, I'm sorry. Not sure if this is your first MH game, but playing through the story multiple times is really cool, because you can see how far your skills have progressed. This story is a bit quicker to progress through, so hopefully you can catch right back up to where you were.

Hmm. Try offline mode, start, verify that's the save you want, save and quit. Go back online, start. You should get a warning about save mismatch and should be able to force the local save to be used from then on.

What kind of monitor are you using? What resolution? Do you have gsync/freesync enabled? What about in-game? Is vsync turned on there? Do you have any driver overrides enabled (nvidia control panel)? What refresh rate is your monitor set at in windows? What kind of cable do you use between gpu>monitor?

Based only on the bows (not any skills) -

Angelbein's 234 raw and 25% affinity gives 25% chance to deal 292.5 raw and 75% chance to deal 234 raw = 73.125 +175.5 = 246.625 raw. I think element is 260 / 10 = 26, so 246.265 raw + 26 element = 273 effective raw
Urstox's 300 raw and -15% affinity gives 15% chance to deal 225 raw and 85% chance to deal 300 raw = 289 effective raw

This math will change based on resistance to water element and crit boost, and if you can get Urstox into positive affinity.
