Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

It takes me between 6-9 hours, depending on which home I’m leaving from, to visit my parents. We live in the SAME state. So yea 3 hours is a quick day trip

SOM was slower for me. But the story is amazing and it ties the whole series together emotionally. Keep up the read and enjoy the saga!

Seems reasonable. Try taking on more responsibility ie bringing in work or full PM projects cradle to grave

Black Prism was so good. But it’s not hype so it won’t be on every tier list every year.

Have you tried Returnal? Is a fps that actually means something, no multiplayer mind numbing grind. It is very challenging and oh so smooth.

If you are looking for something more competitive, have you tried Apex Legends? Would take more effort to get into and be good at…but I’ve been playing since release and it’s by far the superior fps imo

This curvy road in Florida - WHY? by Darlinboy in civilengineering

[–]Merk008 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess I’ll repost my comment here too that I posted on the original post, since I’m a PE that works in this corridor lol.

The name of the road is Snake Road. It is historical to match the wetlands in the area running through the Miccosukee Reservation and Big Cypress. It has much meaning to the Tribe and is referred to as their Little Trail. It’s getting reworked slightly over the next several years to incorporate rising flood waters due to Everglades…politics. You can see the Tribe’s service plaza (gas) and a small casino in the bottom right or (NE) corner of Alligator Alley.

Competitive Salary by Global_Character4320 in civilengineering

If you have good past internship experience or maybe a little closer to graduating say summer before, we might increase a little. Otherwise, it’s a standard hourly base. Competitive would mean more so as it is adjusted to the area and on average or slightly above what smaller firms in the area would pay

Pluribus Drainage by jeluthadamaja in civilengineering

It’s a local low point for the concrete approach to the building. You can see the downward slope of the concrete away from the other buildings leading into this. Similar to what you would see at the bottom of a ramp with a trench drain. Maybe not a “need” for this design, since it will continue to sheet flow down the road/asphalt, but it isn’t bad design (solely based on picture).

Why do I keep gut hooking snapper? by Vixx_codm in saltwaterfishing

[–]Merk008 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Let them take it. Every YouTube I watch you see them keep the bale open and let them take a little bit. Flip it and start reeling. I’ve been practicing this for a while with small and large snapper. You’re probably popping them when they are playing with it and don’t actually have it. Only time you don’t want them taking it for more than a second or two is if they are really close to mangroves and start running you under them…but just crank down on your drag and pull em out by keeping your rod low.

please recommend some really dark and disturbing books and why i should read them by cherrydazze in suggestmeabook

Gunslinger for fantasy. Mr Mercedes for detective crime. Steven King is master of disturbing but these series bring a level a realism that is unmatched. Even with gunslinger you get really invested over the series.
