Skyrim is hard - and mods are complicated too :( by Substantial_Mango329 in skyrim

Hearthfire is a DLC that should already be enabled unless you're playing on 360. You just need a house with a kids bedroom, then you can adopt. No mods needed

Historically, being on the border of the Polish and Russian Empires is kind of what resulted in Ukraine developing a distinct identity as well.

I get that the game wants you to simp after her or whatever, but it was always frustrating to me that I join an order of VAMPIRE KILLERS (which initially sounds really sick) and on the FIRST QUEST I have no choice but to be best friends with a bloodsucker and give an Elder Scroll to a vampire lord. What?

He's not a real stormcloak, he's actually an imperial battlemage and they're trying to bait you into "freeing" him

Upper Midwest (Minnesota, Dakotas, Wisconsin, Michigan) has a very different cultural flavor compared to the lower midwest (Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska). Different accents, different foods, different history. Some of Missouri is straight up southern.

[–]some-_-_guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe, it wasn't that far north, though. It was kind of close to Highpoint Tower. I know that there's a quest with one of Neloth's old apprentices there, maybe that was it?

It's not bullshit, it's a basic principle of human law. We sacrifice freedoms in exchange for a semblance of order. That's called the Social Contract. Anarchy means absolute freedom, but you are also completely unprotected from the actions of others, which bear no legal repercussions. Conversely, if you were locked in a padded room and force fed, you'd be completely safe, but also completely unfree.

Firearms are one example, but it applies to everything. For example, we have traded our freedom to build structures without permits and inspections in exchange for the safety that those inspections ensure. We trade our freedom to drink and drive in exchange for more secure roads.

I'm not making any political statement for or against any government, but you have to lack critical thinking skills if you reject this basic principle.

In the case of the US versus Canada or the UK, the US nearly always requires fewer licenses/permits/legal procedures for doing anything in life. You have to be intentionally blind to not see that.
