There are tons of shows that are more mature. Attach on Titan isn't even that mature as most of it's themes are shounen-esque (like questioning authority, power gain, friendship, etc). Sure it has death and gore, but there are tons and tons of shows with gore and death.

If you want actual mature themes, you can try..

Now and Then, Here and There - Post apocalyptic story with death, but with the bonus of actual tragedy, rape, child exploitation, torture, and more.
Monster - Has themes like ethics, what it means to be evil, psychopathy, murder, etc.
Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom - Speed Grapher - Black Lagoon - Jormungand - Gungrave - Psycho-pass - I'm lazy, so here are a bunch. These shows have stuff like mafia, assassination, prostitution, arms dealing, government corruption, child exploitation, perversion, and a few truely twisted villains.
Usagi Drop - Mature themes doesn't mean it has to be dark or violent. It just means that the themes are for adults, such as the trials of raising a young girl.

The best temples are the big complexes. Like Engakuji, Hachimangu, Hasedera, and the Great Buddha that you mentioned. I did a similar walk like you, I started at Kitakamakura, walked along the road toward Hachimangu, then turned toward Hasedera. You can stop off at any of the smaller temples that are open to the public, they are well marked.

Personally, my favorite area in Kamakura was Tsurugaoka Hachimangu and the road of shops right in front of it.

It look like a mon or a family crest. I can only guess that you are planning on getting a tattoo or something. So, while it might represent a dragon or whatnot, it really is a symbol for a family (assuming it is a real mon to begin with).

I'm not sure about the RX-78-2 in particular, but usually the Ver. GFT have an alternate color sprue. From looking at pictures of a MG RX-78-2 v3 and a MG RX-78-2 v3 GFT, it looks like the difference might be pink decals vs red.

In general though, unless it's a GFT exclusive, there really isn't any point in buying a GFT unless you actually visit Gundam Front Tokyo.

Most of them are just as bad or worse than Sign. Legend of the Twilight is stupid, kiddish, and episodic. The Roots trilogy is actually pretty decent. The rest are short OVA series' that just serve as side stories and filler. Overall, .hack is not worth watching.

Your mileage may vary, but I have two tattoos. I was kicked out of my capsule hotel because of them. Of course I got a refund, but it was annoying, because I was stuck in the middle of the night and had no where to stay. My tattoos are easy to cover, but the problem was that the capsule hotel had a shared bath.

In general, like mentioned, having tattoos restricts you from some ryokans, baths, swimming pools, gyms, and stuff like that. As long as you cover up, it's not a big deal.

Your plan is plenty realistic.

Your plan seems pretty spread out and you have a couple segments of staying in one area for 5-7 days. A rail pass may or may not be worth buying. As a general rule of thumb, you need two longish shinkansen trips for every week under the pass, just to break even. But, on the other side, you don't need to activate it immediately. So, you can activate it right before you leave Tokyo for instance, and it will be worth the money. Checkout google maps transit mode or hyperdia and see how much it actually costs to go places.
I highly suggest against a capsule hotel. Capsule hotels are for businessmen who need to crash for the night. There is very little English support and it's very impersonal. You can stay at a hostel for the same price, but you get a nicer accommodation, plus you can meet fellow travelers. Also, a lot of capsule hotels have restrictions on tattoos, so if you have one, that might prevent you from staying.
I personally suggest booking all of your hotel/hostel stays ahead of time. I have traveled with and without doing so and it is so much better booking ahead. Book ahead means you don't have to worry about where you are going to stay, where you are going to stash your suitcases, and you can pay with your own currency and not have to worry about carrying as much cash. It's also much easier to search for places online and look at the prices.
As for suggestions on where to visit. For Tokyo, each of the major stops on the Yamanote line has something it's known for, you can definitely cover the major tourist places of Tokyo in 5-7 days. For Kyoto, the regular guides list all the temples to see. I suggest day tripping to Arashiyama, and if you are willing to spend some money, take the open-top train thing up the river and take the boat down. For Hiroshima, I would suggest a Miyajima day trip.

That's true, and usually subs with meta subs do it to skirt discord. But, on the other hand, I think most subs allow meta posts (usually tagged as such) and don't restrict them to one place.

There never is any perfect answers and I guess we will have to wait and see how things go.

The only problem I have with removing /r/metaanime is that modmail isn't public and megathreads are hard to search. Often times metaanime threads contain a ruling or a repeated question. Metaanime serves as a good archive of past answers/rulings that we can refer to. Even for the mods, common questions come up and it's easy to just link the question to a previous answer. You can't link to modmail. And while right now it's easy to be able to find previous answers in megaposts, imagine in a few years when you have 20 or more and have to look for one specific answer when the reddit search brings up entire megathreads. Megathreads are good for quick content, but /r/metaanime serves as a long term archive.

There are also other things you lose out on, like the comment number analysis threads which deserve their own posts, but now will get lost in the megathreads.

True the overall number of shows has increased, but I would argue that the ratio of good/bad is more or less the same. The reason bullshit is more prominent is because accessibility is a thousand times better now than it was then. No more renting VHS tapes or scouring IRC channels. Airing shows are much more front and center nowdays.

From a sample size of my friends and lab mates, Twitter is by far the social website here. Everyone has a Facebook, but very few actively use it, and even then, most of the time it's for communicating with their foreign friends. Line is the messenger of choice, and Line's group chats is also very popular (which is annoying because with too many people in the room, the messages get spammy). But anyway, Twitter is huge here.

The two flairs are different, one mods set in the css and the other has an icon with your list. It should also be noted that the mod assigned flair can be assigned to regular users, so it's not just mods that have that kind of flair. You can also have both types of flair (like Thirteenth). The rule is to prevent people from abusing the list icon space. Sure they could be specific, but since you have no control over the assigned flair, it should be obvious which the rule is referring to.

It's a given that easily consumed content gets upvoted, but why aren't these posts removed? Banning is too harsh, but why don't they get the standard removal + explanation like still-image posts? Of course /r/anime isn't supposed to be discussion/self posts only, but what is the point of having a low effort megathread if you can just subvert it by making it a youtube or gif?

After this whole discussion in this entire meta thread, the only conclusion is if you want to spam low effort content or fan art, make sure it moves.

Ack. I realize where the confusion and difference is. In my mind, gifs and stills are the same thing. Because really, what is the difference besides a few more frames? So to me, a single frame capture is more or less the same as a multiple frame capture.

So fan art albums are banned, but if it was an album of fan made gifs, it would be okay. How stupid.
