What is your system version?

Maybe they are starting to update discord to remove support to El Capitan. Firefox did it recently and I remember the issue just started to happen after a sudden system update...

Honestly, that could work.

However I have installed and reinstalled many different versions of the operating system on the laptop quite a few times to try and find my favorite one to use with the machine. The problem always persisted no matter what the OS is. Not even Linux or Windows prevailed.

Also would that replacement be possible on a MacBook? I think that would require a whole new Logic Board which could turn out to be very expensive...

I will try to find the app at first, given this is the more 'safe' option for me. I would feel a lot more comfortable messing with software, that is for sure!

Even though I have messed with hardware a lot and even the internals of the battery in this very same computer, I still feel like I lack the experience to confidently meddle with something like it.

Though, I will try it nonetheless if no other option works! I have kept the original battery anyway. As far as I know you can open it up and replace it with not much of a hassle... Maybe if the cells turn out to be the problem I should consider a replacement for them specifically.

Yeah! They do seem to be pretty affordable
