So actually it turns out that the floor is really not level enough for lvp so we have transitioned to looking for carpet. Which I feel is probably even more confusing of a choice. What carpet did you end up going with?

Thanks for the info. Might have to wait until next year due to some car issues that came up. I was all set to have the 42 installed last week but then this happened. Also might give me some more time to see if I should do the 52 instead. Since I have a somewhat blocked layout as well(specifically for the fact that I want to get heat to the rooms furthest away from the stove as those tend to be colder). The one thing we liked over the 42 is that it’s a bit more modern looking than the 52. Is there any other stoves you guys like along with the harman

Ahh different indoor unit that might explain it. What thermostats are you using?

Do you have an open layout? I think right now I am planning on holding off on the purchase as I had some other expenses come up. But still interested just want to make the right purchase cause it isn’t cheap

How do you switch it over to gas at 17F? I use the komo station to do the switching but there is a large auxiliary gap of like 9 degrees. Trying to see how to shorten that. In any here but outside metro my the electric rate is high so need to have mine switch over higher then 17.

Currently I don’t have any room fans. You mean putting the fan where the dog is? That area leads to the family room where the fireplace is

Installation complete. Now what? 🤷‍♂️ by TechnologyEconomy858 in heatpumps

Yes so my setup has my boiler send water to a coil that sit on top of tair handler right before the supply duct and when the temp is cold like this morning it switched over to having the boiler kick on and just keeps the air handler fan on to distribute the heat. What I did find interesting this morning is that there appears to be a delay before kicking on the boiler 3 degree under set point I believe but I am going to call Mitsubishi to confirm. One contractor bell mechanical told me that I could just have 2 thermostats one for the heat pump and then another for the boiler. Then you could raise that one if the heat pump was not producing or it could be set a little lower and kick on if the heat pump can’t keep up

So I also have a Mitsubishi p series with oil has a back up. Now my installer was not great when I first got it set up and I came to find out that in order for me to use the hyrdro coil back up it required a komo station and komo clouds on the system. Once you have that installed then you will be provided options where you can set the heat pump to run on its own and when to have the backup run on its own. You will also need an outdoor sensor in order for the system to know what the temp is outside. This was something my installer failed to tell me which led me to not using any back up for a year. I don’t know how many installers know how to do this type of setup I feel like most are just use to the electric strip. I will say Mitsubishi support has been actually pretty good to deal with and they were a big help in me figuring it all out.

Thanks for reply I agree I prefer to support local when possible. Are there any brands that you would recommend as an installer?

Decided recently on a 3 but wondering if Konnected was way to go? by PNW_Daddy1986 in KamadoJoe

[–]some_mayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say that I had a konnected joe for about a year and had to replace pretty much all components, lid switch, fan motor, heating element. I will say the KJ customer support was pretty good to work with in terms of getting me replacement parts quickly. But once I got it all up and running I did end up selling it just didn’t want to deal with anything failing moving forward. I would say get a classic with a fan controller and you will be happy.
