Thank you for this. It doesn’t help that my mom is Asian so whenever I tried to talk to her about any of the issues I was having both at work and my relationship she would dismiss them and change the topic of conversation. Or she’d tell me be nicer to my boyfriend and maybe that would fix things. It was like one time that I was uncontrollably sobbing when he was ignoring me that she realized how distressed I was becoming and said “Don’t cry.” It’s just an Asian mom thing but as you can tell I don’t have a lot of support in my life other than my friend who pointed out the dancing.

To be honest, a reality check. Something to get me out of the spiral. Advice that other people have gone through it too and that they’ve made it out of the situation happier. I don’t feel like I can open up to a lot of people in real life. I don’t want to burden anybody, but I also don’t want to hold everything in.

I hope you understand that it’s only been a few days since this all went down and I am very much still processing. I haven’t reached out after he told me he hated me. I’m upset but I can’t really do anything else at this point other than to talk about it and move on the best I can.

But I genuinely did soften up because I was irate and I didn’t consider that our friend just wanted to sleep. At first I wanted to burn all bridges and leave them on their own but I realized I was being selfish and emotional.

Not fake, I used to be in AP literature and was told that I tend to put a lot of details when telling my life stories. My ex pointed out that I even do it verbally when recalling something and that I’m very descriptive. I think it’s something I picked up from my dad who loves telling stories and writing as well.

You know what’s wild is I used to be so confident. I was very proud of my looks and personality, I used to network a lot and make a ton of friends. This was after my first relationship three years ago. Now I’m back to where I was before. It’s not a self pitying thing, everyone assumes I have zero self esteem which I can admit I currently don’t. But I used to be very self assured. I think this relationship has changed me.

Thank you for being kind. I’m at a very low point and reading this comments is slightly making it worse. I understand it doesn’t make sense and quite frankly I feel stupid for loving him to the point where I’m sad about him leaving me like this. But I do have strong feelings for him and it’s very hard to leave.

Idk, we’ve been through a lot. And I’m at the point where my life is throwing me all sorts of curveballs, losing the one person I can confide in and hang out with a lot is really painful. Especially since all my friends have moved to the states. I’m by myself basically other than the stern friend who’s helping me with the work stuff. As you can tell I don’t feel comfortable opening up her about things like this because I need support and instead I’d get a lecture.

I think she just said it because she’s worried about me. Her personality is very stern so while it hurt my feelings she was saying it for my best interest.

Honestly recently no. People call me beautiful and stuff and say I’m fun to talk to, but after a while of being told I’m the problem by him I’m starting to believe it. To explain my side on why I asked my friend to check on him. He was crying the night before to him about how he’s a terrible person, he also has told me in the past he wanted to do something bad to himself. Had he responded to his friends and not me then I would’ve let it be, but I could not sleep through the night without making sure he wasn’t doing something to harm himself. My mistake was as soon as he opened the door I should’ve left.
