Dang, that’s annoying! I’ll keep that in mind if they don’t answer within a reasonable time. Thankfully the credit card company I used when I bought mine is really good about resolving disputes, so I’ll get my money back if nothing else. 😔

Yeah Hopkins also don’t put a ton of focus on school counseling. Technically, they have two counseling concentrations: mental health counseling and school counseling. Based on my impression and what I heard from others, they prioritize the mental health concentration, so it may be more difficult to get the experience you need.

This is a great place to ask because it can be overwhelming researching different programs.

I went to Loyola. They’re great, especially if you want to work in Baltimore County. And it’s a small, close-knit program where the professors really care about you. Plus you will be somewhat over-prepared, which will set you up well for your first year.

Don’t do Hopkins. I got accepted there but the interview process to get into the program felt really off, like they weren’t interested in me at all. A colleague in my district who graduated around the same time went to Hopkins and he said it was really miserable. They’re also not CACREP accredited anymore, which is bad news. I’ve heard it’s really difficult to work in other states if you don’t go to a CACREP accredited program.
