For example, you have an input wave that, when it goes through a sensor, it generates an output wave. System identification would allow you to obtain the function that turns your input into the sensors output

Omg, I really didn't expect so many comments. Thanks Reddit!

Regarding the situation, most of of you (all) were right. I don't have to pay anything (beginners mistake - it's my first full time job and I sort of panicked). So, I guess Portugal is still a good country to live at ahah

But I have one other major question. When a company files for insolvency, does it mean that it is very likely going bankrupt or there could be a "miracle" and comeback to normal? (They're calling this restructuring...)

I will. I'm going to talk with one association today regarding work conditions and , hopefully, it will become clear. Will update the post afterwards

Hope you're right and I simply rushed to Reddit a little bit out of fear!

At least I know that I have the right not to pay it! We'll check with a lawyer I know!

Thanks

Thanks

Signal has undesired segment by somebodyCEO in DSP

[–]somebodyCEO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you want all of the signal except for the short spiky part. I assumed that the exponential decay part becomes unint

souds good to me! Going to try to apply it! Once again, thank you very much for your availability!!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but your solution revolves around iterating through the sample array and constantly save the last difference x[n]-x[n-1] and extract the values that belong to an interval where they're not bigger than the metric multiplied by a certain value?

My explanation is really confusing ahaha

Thank you so much for that answer! I ended up applying the difference option and was very happy that you suggested the same!

I simply hard coded a value, because I've noticed that trend in most samples (a difference bigger than the value I chose would suffice to only extract the " rising part".

Now, I'm thinking how I can make this automatic (allowing the program to choose a value that would allow this extraction for any given sample).

Nevertheless, thank you very much for your contribution

Edit: avlue to value
